It's not the same thing. Doing a recolor doesn't take up nearly the space that doing a remodel does. If that was the case, I would have included shinies, where my number doubles to over 1,600 "monsters." And the monsters in Xenoblade don't have movesets nearly as large, diverse, and not at all as customizable, as Pokemon does.

Fifth gen was bad, but most of the other Pokemon from the other gens are great. Third and sixth gen in particular have some awesome designs. I think we need to get past nostalgia and realize that the newer games are eons better than the originals. |
Nostalgia sells so Nintendo would be smart to capitalize on that rather than waste time modeling Pokémons that really won't had more sales in the end. They really only need the 151 first Pokémons to sell a Pokémon game.

BS.
They would isolate their entire young audience that got into Pokemon games after gen 1. It would be disasterous for them. You obviously haven't played Pokemon in a long time, or else you'd know that there's almost no emphasis on gen 1 Pokemon anymore.

It's not only the new Pokémons from every new generation that are attrocious. It's the incredible reasons they come up with to justifiy how they never discovered those Pokémons before. It's also everything they added to overcomplicate the lore and the plot. And I don't see the problem with Muk or Grimer. The best Pokémon designs are the most simple ones. Not those with stripes and dots and messed up shapes on their body or Pokémon that don't even represent anything. |
Subjective. And it doesn't matter. Nintendo isn't stupid enough to shun the current Pokemon fandom by only including the originals just to pander to non-fans who will never touch another Pokemon game again and aren't worth the effort.

I can be a "real" Pokémon fan without having to swallow what the modern series has turned into.
It's like saying you need to love Star Wars I + II + III if you ever liked Star Wars IV + V + VI. The biggest Star Wars fans would probably have a lot to say on the recent trilogy and yet they are still real Star Wars fans.

...No. No you can't. Pokemon is the modern series. It's like saying you're a real Star Wars fan, but you only ever liked Episode IV. You're not a fan. You're just a guy who liked a movie.

That's completely ludicrous.
I have thousands of examples of series/franchises that turned to crap. You can be a fan of what something used to be.
Otherwise you're just a blind fan and those are the most dangerous especially on forums. lol

Is that a joke? Pokemon is exponencially better in literally every way than it was in the first generation. Have you even played the modern games? It's battle system is more sophisticated, it's designs are more creative, and it has one of the deepest and most complex lore in gaming today thanks to it's near 20 years of world building. Pokemon is about evolution. Pokemon doesn't have the same luxury that Call of Duty has. It doesn't get to sell by staying the same. The reason why Pokemon is still the second largest video gaming franchise in the world, second to only Mario, is not only because it evolves so much with every major iteration, but because the 15+ million people who buy those games time and time again actually enjoy those evolutions.
