Is the Wii U (and gaming in general) too weak for the Pokemon game we all want?

Some are fine but if it comes at the cost of having the ones that are attrocious than no thanks.

Fifth gen was bad, but most of the other Pokemon from the other gens are great. Third and sixth gen in particular have some awesome designs. 

I think we need to get past nostalgia and realize that the newer games are eons better than the originals.

Nostalgia sells so Nintendo would be smart to capitalize on that rather than waste time modeling Pokémons that really won't had more sales in the end. They really only need the 151 first Pokémons to sell a Pokémon game.

They would isolate their entire young audience that got into Pokemon games after gen 1. It would be disasterous for them. You obviously haven't played Pokemon in a long time, or else you'd know that there's almost no emphasis on gen 1 Pokemon anymore.
