Now its all about the games and that's the way its supposed to be.

Since MS has Halo, partnership with ea to make people believe xbox is the best console for COD, and many other things, they should take the advantage in Uk/Us, but not far from PS4, PS4 with a bigmarket lead in the world

It's a mistake to group the US and UK together this generation.  Sure the PS4 is only ahead a little in the US, but in the UK it is currently dominating.  It will take far more than price parity for the X1 to catch up in the UK.

It's all about games from here on out. But I do expect X1 to win US/UK now, but I don't expect domination.

I do wonder why people assume that just because the price has dropped people in the UK will flood to it. MS have to offer more that just money off. Its been 'cheap' for a while.

The level of delusion necessary to think that $399 with no kinect and no game is enough to make the XB1 win US market is astonishing.

If it were combined with stellar exclusive releases from here to fall it would be one thing, but we have the exact opposite, a series of multiplats which will universally be superior on PS4.

I'm a PC and WiiU gamer (with 360 and PS3 as well), and can still see it clear as day.

Think about $449 WITH Kinect WITH a free AAA new title and it STILL lost to PS4. $399 isn't going to do diddly squat in the big picture.

Even E3 is a bit of a lost hope realistically for this one. Phil I believe can do the right things (and this $399 kinectless bundle is one of them), but he hasn't had enough time at the helm to create entire new exclusive titles to release in 2014. Announcements for 2015 and beyond aren't enough, either by Sony or Microsoft or anyone. This year is going to be up to 2014 games. They might be able to rush something out, but that doesn't bode that will as to that resulting in a great title.

It also bears mentioning that market/social inertia is hard to overcome, particularly in the social media obsessed US market. When a substantial number of gamer friends have already gone to PS4/PS+, it gets ever harder to overcome that and bring people to the XB1 platform.

It's not over though, there are still millions of less devoted 360 players out there who might be tempted. But if $449 Kinect/Titanfall didn't bring them, $399 barebones isn't bringing them either.

$349 Sunset Overdrive + XBLG 3 month fall bundle. THAT will move the needle in a big way.

yeah, the XB1 was for ~2 weeks 349 pounds WITH titanfall + kinect and only outsold the ps4 on those weeks by mere 500-1k units

Seeing as how PS3 sold better last generation. PS4 will never lose its lead as the price is not the only reason why the X1 is behind. It still does not have that global appeal that PlayStation has. We already know who delivers more/better games. This generation will be the same as the last two.

PS4 will still keep it lead thanks to EU and Japan, but the NA just became even more of a battleground
