Motion controls were always a gimick for me. I never got a Wii because i didnt want to bother with them. I need precision in my gaming.

My issue with the Wii was the motion controls as well, I hate motion controls for anything other than golf, tennis and bowling.

I don't see how playing the Wii makes someone look like a bundle of sticks!

I hated Nintendo's support for the system after the third or fourth year. Other than a kinda mediocre Zelda and Galaxy 2, the catalog went downhill while the competition's catalog improved. I loved my Wii, but I really didn't use it that much after 2011.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC
- Mario Kart featured bikes as the unquestionably best vehicle.
- Super Smash got a massive amount of content - all of which amount to nothing since the gameplay was horrid. The game was designed as an item based party game where the luckiest player wins most of the time. I can see why Nintendo would want to do that given the wide appeal of the Wii, but the game wasn't for me.
- Metroid Prime 3 lacked the immersion of previous titles as focus was shifted towards a bland story. And what was intended as immersive motion controls ended up giving the opposite result as the responsiveness was seriously lacking.
- Skyward Sword featured little exploration, frequent revisits of previously visited areas, awkward sword duels and few interesting dungeons. (As for the whole Groose thing, I seem to have repressed most of it at this point.)
- F-Zero was absent. (Which may be explained by them limiting the areas of potential progress with the hardware. And considering the near-perfection of F-Zero GX (only non-essential parts were lacking), the game would most likely pale in comparison as a result.)
As far as my interests are concerned the Mario platformers, Virtual Console and full Gamecube backwards compatibility was all that the system had going for it. At least the hardware was priced accordingly.

The first couple years I owned a Wii I played it on an SD tv and didn't understand everyone's gripes about it's power. When I finally saw Wii being played on a HDTV I understood...

$10 for N64 games is a steal. Your complaints should be aimed at devs. and publishers of today selling their unfinished games for $60.
Anyone who loves video games and doesn't say motion control is an idiot. This feature ruined parts of games in a way that almost made me hate them. Mario Galaxy began the crap with the stupid star bits and bubble stages, Zelda Skyward sword was a good idea but it was still buggy even with Motion +. And, it made SS too easy because the controls weren't definite. I'm just glad Smash and Mario Kart allowed you to use GC controllers.
Two things:
1- the lack of HD resolution. I keep looking at the best-looking games on the Wii and thinking "wow, how awesome would that look in HD!". The fact that the Dolphin emulator can do what the system can't, doesn't help.
2- they removed GC compatibility in 2011, I think. This pisses me off to no end, what's the point really? It was one of the main selling points of the console for some people (namely gamers who missed the GameCube's library - and considering the GC numbers vs. PS2 numbers, that was a lot).

Seemed like a smart phone connected to a TV. Pass ....
I'm a Nintendo admirer, but I'm not interested in motion controls - at all . Move can die a slow death too, and I'm the biggest Sony nerd on my island. I didn't mind the lack of horse power since that's what the PS3 was for in my view, and likewise I don't mind the Wii U being weaker than the PS4 since the former is more powerful than the PS3 and I'm content with the PS3's offerings to this day.
The fuck would I want to waggle taggle when I can just sit and relax with a conventional controller in my hands? Just me ...but to each his own.
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
