My god this is so frustrating to me that so many of you are so very narrow minded.
Nintendo's E3 presentation is the exact same thing as a conference. Just a different stage.
Its just that simple.
You, are going to sit at your PC/TV/Phone/Tablet/etc and either see some PR about new stuff from company X while they fumble through a live stage OR you're going to see a more refined set of PR about new stuff from company x in a pre-recorded show.
It's the same damn thing.
Hell, they could even use a green screen to make it look like they're standing on that same stage if it would make you feel better. But why, why promote archiac behaviour and leave yourself open to technical difficulties and wasted time?
Instead show everyone a perfect show the first time.
Movie theaters constantly drive more ticket sells than live performances. Nintendo has moved on to provide the high-def movie experience while MSony are stuck in a play. Sure, live plays can be nice and fun, but a streamlined high-quality modern movie can simply do so much more.
SAME media watch both and write the same biased click-grabbing articles.
FANS of the company/product watch both, but get far more quality information and visuals out of movies.
Quit being simple-minded. Recognize that Nintendo simply moved to the modern approach faster than MSony and the media is simply fighting back at becoming irrelevant.
