I don't get to play often so it would take a long time for me to finish a game typically so a rental system would be horrible for me.

You keep the games as long as you subscribe so there is never a rush.....I have games from plus from 2 year ago never played them still can when i want, I dont think you understand Ps plus.

I don't have it so I don't fully understand but reading th comments i'm under the impression that once you let the account run out you lose the game. do you you gt them back when you renew or is all chance of playing it lost?

No Id prefer to have the game. I dont want a rental service.

lets face it, effectively every online game on PS4 and X1 is a rental including titanfall. stop paying your rent (subscription), and the game is useless.

Yes there are a lot of good offline games, but if games with gold gives you an online orientated game, you are going to have to pay to play it online anyway.

Ideally I'd also like for us to be allowed to keep good games without them being tied to whether or not you are subscribed, but realistically thats never gonna happen. The only games its happening with are the ones which are dirt cheap to begin with, or so old that people will have much better stuff to play instead.

No games for gold isnt like that. When you download the game its yours to keep regardless if you keep your Gold Subscription.

What he's saying is that you're gonna need XBL anyway to play many games (since many games have an online focus). You could unsub from XBL...but what benefit of "keeping" a game like Titanfall have since you wouldn't be able to play it without Gold? A perceived better deal because you "own" the game....even though you can't play it?

Well off the top of my head dead raising 2 was available a few months ago and at best you can get that for 20 US pre-owned.

Dead rising here is 5 or less used, where the heck do you shop?

20 at both eb games and gamestop I do mean dead raising 2 not 1

You get them back if/when you resub. You don't even have to download the games completely when they become a part of the IGC. You could just hit "download" and that makes them tied to your account as "purchased", and you could go and download them later, even if they aren't on the IGC anymore

I believe what he is saying is that if you are going to be paying for LIVE anyways, especially if the free game is an online game, what's the big deal? With the PS+ style service you're not only getting access to much newer titles, but more overall titles as well. My sub is still good for another 13 months and I already have a stupidly large backlog on PS3 and that doesn't even count the other games I get on my Vita and PS4. You get A LOT of games. "Renting" all those games (You will end up with well over 30+ easy per console) for just $50 a year and no due dates is a freaking steal. You could rent a limited selection at your local Redbox kiosk (US) for $2/day per title.

He also makes the point that yes you OWN a game like Titanfall (Or any "Online Only" title), but isn't it almost the same idea as PS+ games? Don't pay your LIVE sub, Titanfall is gone.

Yes you could always choose to get LIVE again and play your Titanfall, but same holds true for PS+. If I do not renew my sub, I lose access to all the games I got. Once I sign up again I regain access to any and all PS+ titles I downloaded in the past. I don't neeed to keep them on my HDD either. They will always be available for me to download, free of charge. $50/year and the longer you stay the bigger of a steal that $50 becomes. It is value that grows over time.

Honestly, I am shocked it is only $50/year. I took advantage during Black Friday and snagged a year for $30.

This would be awesome for XBox One. It would add so much value and I would easily have one in my home and pay the $60/year sub.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Sounds like they not gonna give out free games anymore.

I don't really get why some people here get so upset with the notion of some of us on XBox don't like the concept of PS+. If you like it, great for you. I think it's crap, just as I think it's crap that Titanfall is unplayable without XBox live arcade. This is a DRM policy that is very anti-consumer in my view. Bringing in Netflix or other services in the equation is irrelevant since they are services I can get outside of XBox. The gold membership does give me the benefit of having everything on the same place.

If they end up turning it into something similar to PS+ then I wouldn't mind. I pay for both services already anyway.

I don't disagree, but you're also getting a ton of better games with the DRM and a lot more of them. Anti-consumer? Not so much. I already have 5 PS4 games and I don't even have the system yet. I paid 35 dollars for my subscription and the service has already paid for itself; you can't deny the value.
