I think it'll happen...just not right away. They don't want to lose even more than they already are on each Wii U sold, and Mario Kart 8 is guaranteed high-selling software that they'll want to sell on its own and make as much money as possible off it. If Wii U is still tanking come the fall after a summer of having Mario Kart out, then I could see a holiday bundle with Mario Kart 8 along with a price cut and then Smash Bros. being their next main high-selling non-bundled software focus.

While that's true, the difference here is that there are no Wii U bundles that are going for $250 (outside of ones repriced by retailers to simply get rid of their stock). What you're asking for is Nintendo, who was already losing money on the $350 Wii U bundle when it came out, and then cut the bundle price and started eating bigger losses, to now once again increase their loss per console with a bundle that adds another $50 in the negative. That's not going to happen.

Of course they wouldn't. Good old Nintendo, always thinking of us. A 900 billion% increase in Wii U sales would probably overheat the entire world economy, and no one wants that. A $300 bundle would be much safer for everyone. It won't revive the Wii U, but it'll give it a nice boost without ending civilization as we know it.

Think about it though. The Wii U sold about 36,000 the week of March 15th. 900 billion% of that would be 32,400,000,000,000,000 Wii Us. That's 32 quadrillion, 400 trillion. The average person would own 4.5 million Wii Us. The amount of money spent on Wii Us that week would be $8,100,000,000,000,000,000. That's 8 quintillion, 100 quadrillion. That's at least 95,000% of the total global GDP. In other words, it would take 95,000 equally populated and productive earths to pay for that many Wii Us in a year. Civilization as we know it WOULD end. Also, there would be more copies of Mario Kart than any other piece of media, ever, combined.

It would certainly boost sales with a bundle of MK8 for 250, just like MS did with Titanfall and drop there price $50. The WiiU is certainly a very nice console, we use it everyday unlike my PS4.

Exactly!  So they can't afford to lower the price even further.  They would probably be losing over $100 per unit if they made another price cut now.  They will probably wait until the cost of producing each unit goes way down before they try another price cut. 

They simply couldn't explain such a move to the investors.

"So, we have this big ass game that everyone will biy, right? But guess what we do, we just give it away for free with every console! Profits!"

Only Microsoft can get away with such a move because they have more money than god. :P

Good post! I really enjoyed reading that.  I think the main reason Nintendo isn't doing this is because they don't have quite enough factories to produce that many games. They just don't want to delay the game, that's really what it comes down to.  ;)

Isn't the WiiU still making a loss? Cutting $50 and bundling MK will lose them even more.

Nitnendo know that most people would buy the console for this game alone, so, why make a bigger install base if in the end, they already have the game they want? But don't worry, will come... holiday 2015.

But i'm for now cautious, and decided to postergate my acquisition till e3(have to finish college too) and sse what they will do.Remember: Nintendo never do the expected
