This sounds like complete and utter BS. EA don't need to kiss ass or apologise to Sony like they have the upper hand.

Last I checked, Sony does have the upper hand. They're selling at a record pace and EA is missing out on that. The Ps3 is also still doing okay WW, while the 360 has completley imploded. Not to mention, the X1 is pretty irrelevent outside NA, so EA is pretty much restricting themselves to the US by ignoring the PS4.

I honestly can't wait for the Titanfall 2 (or Titanfall successor) announcment for PS4. It'll be pretty much as big as loosing Halo at this point (given the money and hype MS has injected into it)

No it won't.

And no Sony do not have the upper hand. They can't afford to lose EA's support, that's a fact.

EA can't afford to loose out on Sony's hardware either. They're in the same boat.

And what do you mean it won't? Titanfall, at the moment, is even more important than Halo to MS and certainly if they were able to keep it, it'd be just as big. The inevitable sequel on PS4 will be a huge blow, but hey, that's what they get for relying on third party moneyhats.

I doubt it would have sold more on ps3 then 360 since shooters always perform better on the 360 and as far as the itvselling better on the ps4 tgen the one who knows

Why not both? I don't think anyone is arguing that it should have been exclusive to ps consoles, but instead on PC,XBO, XB360, PS3, PS4 (or just ps4 instead of both ps3 and ps4). It would have sold less on ps3, but still more on xb + ps than on xb + pc.

Halo does 3.3m in the US first month typical, Titanfall isn't as important to MS as Halo is. Especially given it's a new IP.

You keep hyping it up as some sort of tragic enevitability tho, MS are getting exactly what they want from it.

Titanfall has being hyped as the game of the Generation the absolute real next gen while it's on Xbox360 too. All those 75 awards and other things have been put in everyone face day in and day out.

Current gen.  This is the current gen.  Please stop using buzz words.

I doubt that inFamous Second Son will sell more than the XBO version of TitanFall, let alone more than the PC + XBO + X360 versions.

If nothing else, than simply due to being a bundled software on XBO. Even Knack managed to get over 300k sales in Japan due to being bundled with the PS4 there.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if inFamous manages to be a 2+ million seller for the PS4.

Worldwide?  I suppose because it is so close to launch and software selection isnt very good, but inFamous hasnt been a real big seller in the past.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

"Sony also used it’s own metrics in a meeting with EA last week and showed them what they would have sold on the ps3 and ps4. The money EA took from MS doesn’t even begin to cover it. The EA guys went over the math and agreed. EA is in full ‘We’re so f**king sorry, Sony’ mode currently.”

This feels like bullshit to me honestly.

Famousmortimer isn't exactly known for his evenhandedness. I prefer Sony consoles and I still don't like him.

Also, "social metrics"? Really? Why not something actually relevant, like better pre-order numbers or something?

We already know Infamous has more pre orders than Titanfall.

ea feels really bad to lose the sales potential in europe.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

inFamous Second Son is already above titfanfall at amazon US : http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=sr_bs_1
Sound like I overestimate titanfall's success.

If youre using Amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2014/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsar

Titanfall is 6th
inFamous is 30th

That said, its beyond silly to judge which game will sell more based on an hourly Amazon chart.

One thing people ignore is the fact that Titanfall would be a near non-entity if Microsoft hadn't sunk what clearly amounts to tens of millions of dollars worth of marketing into it.

Its all well and good to say that it would have sold millions on PS4. But ultimately Sony is neither known for its shooters, or its ability to market individual games as well as Microsoft. If Titanfall had been multiplat or Sony-exclusive, it just wouldn't have ever become as big a deal.

The whole argument is a giant, irrelevant what-if!

Not true. Microsoft paid for mindshare. They want people to associate Titanfall with the Xbox One instead of the competition once the title got big. Its the same mindgames they started with COD:MW where most casuals thought COD was Xbox exclusive because of the commercialism. If a game is hot and MS doesnt make it its much easier for them to market it. MS hasn't put a dime into anything for Titanfall outside of marketing and exclusivity.
