| starcraft said: One thing people ignore is the fact that Titanfall would be a near non-entity if Microsoft hadn't sunk what clearly amounts to tens of millions of dollars worth of marketing into it. Its all well and good to say that it would have sold millions on PS4. But ultimately Sony is neither known for its shooters, or its ability to market individual games as well as Microsoft. If Titanfall had been multiplat or Sony-exclusive, it just wouldn't have ever become as big a deal. The whole argument is a giant, irrelevant what-if! |
Not true. Microsoft paid for mindshare. They want people to associate Titanfall with the Xbox One instead of the competition once the title got big. Its the same mindgames they started with COD:MW where most casuals thought COD was Xbox exclusive because of the commercialism. If a game is hot and MS doesnt make it its much easier for them to market it. MS hasn't put a dime into anything for Titanfall outside of marketing and exclusivity.
