Forums - Sony - EDGE: Sony’s VR tech will be revealed at GDC – and it represents virtual reality gaming’s greatest hope

Gran Turismo 7 support -> True first person driving -> Bundles with the headset and the game -> Massive success.

Hope Sony know what their doing for their own sake. They are not in a position to be spending millions in R&D for a product only for it to flop.

"Oculus Rift-beating VR headset" Doubtful...

Flop incoming.

We're talking about PS4 related stuff here and not your precious console.

Let's hope it's better than Move, really. Perhaps good tech but very little support for it.

because sony is not a technology company that spend millions and millions on R&D and do not have any previous experience with VR, none, nothing, nope.

man i hope this is true, imagine playing a game like Destiny with VR, would be AMAZING!

yea, it could be extremely cool in RPGs or MMOs, but as it needs so much processing power I think the "AAA" stuff will only work well on fairly high end PCs, if they even choose to support VR on PS4/consoles (on PC some modders probably will make sure it works)

yeah a game like skyrim would be amazing with it too. either way, if this is true, then Sony's VR helps validate OR and the two might help each other get more support. it will be interesting, i think FPS games could be real cool with VR on.

Im looking forward to checking it out as well. Suck it haters!

They are, of course. But they can't do wonders within a certain price range. I followed a lot of twitter accounts around Oculus and there are very talented guys working on the tech behind Oculus with many smart techniques to make people not get headaches or make them puke, for example. Very, very complex math behind all this, leave aside the hardware which is needed for it.

I don't say Sony won't deliver a good VR experience although we have yet to see it. But I think that

a) the hardware of Oculus will be a lot better than Sony's solution just because of the price

b) the experience with Oculus will be a lot better because of the manpower and intelligence put into the project

b) is of course just a guess from me - we will see how it will turn out.

these are just assumptions. there is no reason at all to think that Sony cant make a better VR headset. is there a possibility that its worse, of course, a big one too. but their is also a big possibility thats its pretty much equal to it or even better.
