@bolded: cough... Valve??

also, i agree, Sony need to impress the Media from day one, let them wear it and try it on, make them go WoW! or else sony are in for a tough ride, VR will be a VERY hard thing to market and the only way people can really see what it does and its effect is to try it on. So sony needs the press to say "its fucking awesome" so people could atleast get excited to try it.

honest question,...  does valve make games anymore?

they are obviously in a huge transition period, so its normal if they arent speaking much about their projects at hand.

well imo, 3rd parties developers will take a "wait and see" approach with VR.  if someone is to succeed in this space it will require not only putting forth some hardware but also assuming the risk to put forth several games of high quality to "prove" the hardware.   i'm not sure valve has the manpower to do that anymore with all their other projects and committments.

sony's tech will be better ("OR killing") for the simple fact it's sony and not some hohum little startup with no confirmed developer support.   if sony puts 1 game on the thing it will already be better than OR.  seriously,.. sony, nintendo, and MS are the only three that could possibly pull this off.

"There’s also no pressure on developers from platform holder Sony to adopt the tech; indeed, the studios we spoke to were excited by the technology, but questioned its viability as a platform."

i'm glad they aren't pressuring developers.  that will foster good developer relationships.  i do hope sony gets this in the hands of indies as they are more likely to take the risk to develop something unique for it.  ..but i also question the viability of this.  sony NEEDS to bring their "wii sports" to the reveal.  if this doesn't get amazing press from day 1 it will flop.  sony needs positive word of mouth on their side,.. this will be impossible to advertise their way to customer acceptance.

No confirmed developer support?

That looks like a lot more than none, some of which are already available with Rift support on PC. That's already a lot more than Sony have at present

EA is looking to develop for virtual reality: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/ea-ceo-thinking-about-virtual-reality-experiences-but-not-necessarily-for-the-oculus-rift/1100-6418183/

Fifa 15 with VR is a big selling point if EA supports Sony's product.

Some of you just need to look at things more open minded.

GT I can bet my left nut Kaz will be all over Vr for Gt7

Gran Turismo and Vr headset, Im sure ill move some units.

It looks like Valve are already pretty invested in VR and working relatively closely with Occulus:

thumbed throw the list.  a lot of those have already been confirmed for ps4 with or without VR support.  the witness, war thunder, wander, strike suit zero, minecraft, everquest, daylight, star citizen, routine (probably), QUBE, project cars.

Didn't say they haven't, but a lot of those games support OR already so devs support is there and the two VR products will probably complement each other (especially with Indies).

I can tell you from experience that playing War Thunder normally and playing in VR is a completely different experience. The level of immersion with OR was beyond anything I could have expected.

one setp closer to a real .hack// mmorpg game(or swordart) just make sure you can log out!!!

Flop incoming.

We're talking about PS4 related stuff here and not your precious console.

It's a gimmick. There are two options; Wii-like success or Virtual Boy-like failure.

I´ve never had the chance to try VR, what does it feel like?...like you´re in the game?

Survival horror games and VR sound like heaven to me.
