Forums - Nintendo - hardware keys for WiiU released by hackers

I still believe it will take a while for the hack to be available to the public. I mean the 3DS has already been hacked (they were able to remove the region lock plus some other stuff), but it can brick your console if you use the hack.

However I'm surprised how the 3DS looks like it has been a lot harder to hack than the Wii U. Even now we are just starting to see hackers making progress with the 3DS but Wii U has moved pretty fast, we might see a full working hack by the end of this year or next year. This might be just a matter of interest though, hackers just may find the Wii U more interesting than the 3DS.

Too bad they won't get a cookie for  their glorious achievement. ;(

Sure, interesting controller. There was a talk about the controller on 30C3:

The keys are right there on the page for any programmer to use.....

That's like handing someone the keys to your car and saying "its okay it will take them a long time to open the door.

Why be surprised? It was just a matter of time.

Well.... The wii was piss easy to hack and the OS is basically unbrickable so even if you fucked up, you can still recover it and etc but Nintendo software still sold a lot even though it was ez to hack... So maybe the wiiU hacks is more of a good news than bad but we will see how it pans out since Hacking the ps3 is so damn hard...

It took me over a month to understand every little thing about how the ps3's hacks, backup laucher and etc works so.. it is quite hard... If the wiiU is gonna be that hard to work with in terms of hacking, software sales is not gonna be an issue but by the looks of it, it shouldn't even come close to being that hard

The wii was essentially baby's first hack vs the ps3 was advanced hacking and if you screwed up once... ggggg

this is for homebrew guises, not for piracy just like when Sony was removing the other os from it's platform, we lost so many great homebrew programs

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I'm referring to the Wii like homebrew where you just need an SD card and follow the steps on a website.

This however requires some level of expertise, and not everyone is a programmer. And this is still very technical stuff that the normal folk won't find any use to. So yeah it will still take a while before a normal homebrew that everyone can use is available.

Man that sucks. Hopefully Nintendo can act fast and lock them out.
