The reason I bought the Wii was Xenoblade/Zelda/Metroid prime 3.

I bought mine close to launch for both. I really enjoyed the freshness of Wii Sports and Wii Play type games, but I also wanted to play Super Paper Mario, Zelda etc. I expected games to use motion control well, but only Prime 3 lived up to my expectations. Later on, I grew to hate motion control for their core IP. It got so bad that I didn't even play Zelda SS, and probably never will.

Best 2D Nintendo games are on NES. Best 3D is N64. Mario 64 and OOT combined revolutionIzed the industry. 

I got a Wii because it was fairly cheap, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about when they were sold out.

I got only about 5 games - Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Galaxy, Resident Evil 4, Raving Rabbids. Wasn't too interested in the system, since by comparison I got over 30 titles for the PS3 and over 10 for the 360.

I think there were a lot of good games that came out later that I just didn't follow because I already lost interest and the Wii spent many years unplugged most of it's life.  I'm getting some more WIi games now to play on the Wii U, like Galaxy 2.

The Wii is one of my favorite consoles.

Why? I fucking love niche games, and thats where the Wii excelled.

I only got it for Mario Kart, so yes. But there were so many non-Nintendo-exclusives that it was worth a lot more than just for the Mario games and Zelda.
I love the exclusives like Sonic Colors, Muramasa, Little King's Story, Epic Mickey, ..
And more stuff from Nintendo that is not Mario like Kirby and Captain Rainbow were amazing on Wii.

I think I used my Wii wisely last gen:

Its practically an exclusive imo. Same with No more heroes.

As a Nintendo fans whose owned every console of theirs since the SNES, I say the Wii has their best games.
