Forums - Nintendo - Did you only buy the Wii for the Nintendo games?

First and foremost, I bought my Wii at launch for the Nintendo games, particularly Wii Sports, Excite Truck, and Twilight Princess. I also picked up a couple third-party games: Banana Blitz and Trauma Center: Second Opinion.

Now I have close to 50 Wii games (not including Virtual Console titles), maybe half of which are third-party. I actually have a pretty substantial Wii backlog to get through.

I only purchased a Wii because i got it for 40 pounds. I was only interested in the nintendo games. I got them for free

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

It's mostly the reason why I owned a WII over the HD twins.

Canceled my Twilight-Princess pre-order for the GameCube and bought instead the Wii for the "next-gen"-version of Twilight Princess and Wii Sports. Kept it mainly for other Nintendo 1st party games (Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Excite Truck, Wii Sports Resort, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Skyward Sword...), but bought some of the few good 3rd party titles, too.

Bought it for the Nintendo games, but my library is more than 50% third party, including such diverse titles as CoD:WaW, de Blob, Tiger Woods 10, No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki, The Conduit, Epic Mickey, and Little King's Story (to name but a few).

And across the various titles, one thing stood out - those third-party games that had real love and effort put into them were able to stand toe-to-toe with Nintendo's games... but such titles were few and far between. Some others showed great potential, but that potential was never realised (The Conduit is perhaps the most extreme example of this - a game with incredible potential, but never really achieving any of it). And some, I probably shouldn't have bought, but I had hopes that supporting the weaker attempts would encourage them to make better attempts (boy was I wrong - they used it to justify even weaker attempts, trying to get as much money out of as little love and effort as they could).

I bought it for DBZ. But then Bandai ruined that. With the borked online mode in 3. Then just Nintendo games. Bough medal of honor and just a few others. But yeah, Nintendo only basically.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I've never bought a Nintendo system only for the Nintendo games. There are just enough good third party games to keep me satisfied. The Wii is probably my favorite console, all things considered.

I pretty much only used my Wii for the exclusives. I bought 3rd party games, some were good, but most were meh.
