Nothing we've seen supports this. So definitely no.

As stated in OP, Mario Kart 7 does.

There was a Mario Kart on GC too and it didnt sell 21 Million in America alone.

What OP is saying is that even though games like Nintendogs are going down, Nintendo's traditional market increased thanks to the Wii.

So, even if the casual craze has left, games like Mario Kart 7 are still selling well. It has already surpassed Double Dash by a long margin.

Im not so sure Nintendos franchises have grown that much look at NSMB on 3DS and Wii U, both are going to be down massively compared to last gen. Also Mario 3D World, its tracking behind every other 3D Mario game, even Sunshine which only sold 6.3m and released when GC had a similar install base to Wii U. Pikmin 3 doesnt look like it will sell better than the previous installments. Donkey Kong/Zelda/Metroid/Kirby all stayed relatively the same as the N64/GC era.

Do u have any examples other than Mario Kart 7 that shows Nintendo games growing?

Probably. Although not at the current rate. But Wii U has a lot more potential than Gamecube does.

Why do people say crap like this? there is absolutely nothing to support this thougjt and if it had more potential then it shouldnt be trending well behind it with 0 chance of catching up soon

I think WiiU will easily surpass GC sales if Nintendo wants that, which i doubt.
They might kill WiiU sooner than expected to focus on new HW ala GBA/NDS

For that to happen Nintendo needs to push MK8 , SSB4 ( and the Wii U itself) like fucking hell.. They need to spend tons of cash so that  the general consumer knows about the Wii U and its games..  Wii U games like MK8  can appeal to the general consumer, but general consumer needs to  know that the games exist in the first place..

Mario Kart 7 > Mario Kart GBA

Mario 3D Land > Super Mario GBA

Zelda OOT3D > Zelda GBA

Fire Emblem Awakening > FE GBA

All with about half the userbase too. This isn't even lifetime sales as they are still selling.

Plus, Animal Crossing is certainly bigger than before. As long as Nintendo doesn't just remake New Leaf like they did with City Folk, it should be a big game. Donkey Kong also was M.I.A on the GC. (Jungle Beat wasn't even DK) Tropical Freeze will help sell systems in the longrun.

3D World might be selling pretty low at the moment but the price is holding it back IMO. Once the Wii U is cheaper, that game will be picked up along side many systems.

GC was $150 with many of Nintendo's biggest games released already.

Wii U is $300 and has 2 Mario games and a Zelda remake.

Even if my prediction comes way short, it isn't difficult to see why the GC is currently tracking better.

Ps2 200. ps4 400. Ps4>ps2 so far. Since GC the population has grown and the amount of markets Nintendo is shipping to has grown. 150 when the GC launched is not the same as 150 now.

No, there is absolutely 0 reason why GC is tracking higher

Mostly because Gamecube had more of there traditional franchises out by this time and was 1/2 the price.

The PS4 just launched so it shouldn't be counted in this situation. Wii U was tracking ahead of the GC during its launch Holiday too I believe.

You're right $150 means less now than before. Adjusted for inflation, the Wii U would be $228 in 2001 money. It is also bundled while the GC wasn't at launch. With that said, from a consumer perspective, we don't see inflation factors. We only see the $300 price tag.

We can disagree all day about how well we think the Wii U will sell in the end. It's only our opinions. Can you honestly say that you see no advantages the GC had over the Wii U at this point in its life? Price? Games?

You believe wrong. GC was at 3.8m after the end of its first FY. Wii U was at 3.45
