Interesting to see how people ignore 3ds sales on these threads.

That little thing is just beasting. It beat every main brand combined that week and is just crushing its main competitor.

Hardly a videogame console sell that much in any given week. Amazing.

The great 3ds sales are mentioned all the time.

But it's not a 1:1 comparison with home consoles.  Handhelds are cheaper, the games are cheaper, and attach rate is lower than home consoles.  For example total X360 & PS3 attach rate are at 10:1 and 9:1, while DS is at 5:1 and 3DS is at 2.8:1.

So not to take everything away from 3ds, but if it were a console THEN it would be amazing.

I'm betting there are a lot of people like me.

I have a LOT of PS3 games to still get through, so I'm only playing F2P and PS Plus games on PS4 right now.

It will probably be 6 months before I fully switch to the PS4.

Awesome sales for all three 8th gen consoles, amazing sales for PS4! Hopefully the momentum can be maintained partially though the new year.

I still heavily question the numbers until some more substantial numbers are released but it would be great if they were true for the big three.

I dont get why people are saying PS4 software sales are bad. In the US this week PS4 sold 272k while its software sold 460k with 7 titles in the top 75 and LTD PS4 has sold 1.7m with software at 3.5m so on average people are buying 2 games with the console in the US and that not including digital.

Well some people mentioned the issue with 3DS sales

It's lower than last year despite a far stronger games profile & a new model.

So yeah it's doing good and destroying the Vita, but beasting? Don't think so. This is not a point in its lifecycle where holiday sales should be down YOY.

3DS is really showing that the main reason for PS4 beeing sold out is more due to relative low shipments. And of course handhelds and stationary consoles can be compared, both do basically the same, they are all dedicated videogame systems. There is a difference in price but the same can be said about PS4 and Xone but it obviously gets compared anyway, to me it seems to be just an excuse because it easily outsells PS4. So an obviously better selling system like 3DS has been said to be in trouble while the far less selling PS4 not. Oh the irony.

They're not exactly the same just because you say so.  They're different markets that appeal to different people.  Young vs old.  Public transport commuter vs driver.

Portables are great for people who commute on public transport - which is a ton of people (but not me).  PS4 is not a real competitor to the 3DS.  You can't take PS4 on your commute :).  Competitor to 3DS are iOS & Android.  How is 3DS faring against those competitors?

As far as games industry 3DS sales should be divided by 3 when comparing to console, because I say so.  Do you like that?  I have some logic to back it up too.  Portable with 5:1 software ratio and $40 games versus a console with 10:1 software ratio and $60 games means one portable = about 3 times less $ worth of games sold.

But have you seen Titanfall?
This will let the One sell like 20 Million Units a week!
Its insane how greedy the people are for the PS4 - Its still impossible to get one here in Europe just by walking in 99% of the times.
If Sony had bigger supply they could sell 500k+ every week here easily right now.
Microsoft didn't get the timing right with "killing" the 360 off worldwide either and missed to advertise the One with interesting exclusives that are made for their community.Their own Community is somehow holding them back.
CoD is for that Community far more important than for the Sony Community,especially in the USA and their most important game and its Cousin Titanfall are and will be available in nearly 1:1 the same on the 360(720p and stuff).There is no need to upgrade cause the most important franchises are still available on the system they already have or is damn cheap at the moment.
