Yea, I'm sure MS looked at the countries they saw the most demand with the 360 when deciding where to launch the Xbox One.  So you're right, those few countries it does come to won't make much of a difference.

But didnt the X1 only release in 13 countries while PS4 like 30 something, Major Markets may be covered, but that is still a huge market disparity between the two, so yea it's too early to call it a Massacre, PS4 will no doubt have a huge lead in EU this gen though

Not only that, but the 360 and PS3 are pretty much neck and neck with the same type of trends. So there i no massacre as this is the norm.

3DS being down this year is probably due to Nintendo. Last year the focus was on 3DS and just launch numbers for Wii U. While this year the focus is on Wii U. I see no ads for 3DS, because it really does not need it. However with tons of ads, it would probably be up YoY.

The massacre between PS3 and 360 happened throughout the entire year with the yearly gap now at 2.6 million and will likely finish around 2.7 or 2.8 million as a final 2013 tally. The yearly gap has never been so high for PS3.

The X360 also had a head start. History shows that to look at sales trends in this industry is a false economy.

Did the PS3 follow up the trend of the PS2? Did the x360 follow the trend of the xbox or wii u the GameCube? No.

So what makes anyone thinks the Wii u, PS4 and Xbone will follow the trends of the last generation. There is no norm in this industry.

To say something is going to happen this gen because it happened last gen is rather.. you know..

Have you looked at the EU totals for both?  When all is said and done, the PS3 is going to have a 9M-10M gap on the 360.  And this is from a console that launched 1 1/2 years after the 360, for a MUCH higher price.  The gap is going to be even bigger this gen, since the PS4 has more demand, lower price, and launched only a week later than the One.  It's probably going to end up more like a 15M-18M gap, and that's only from one major region.

The gap is already 1M in only one month ! What will it be in 10months with Japan ?!!

PS4 make doubles X1 sales when they have supply, and this is without Japan, if this is not a massacre, i dont know how to call it.
