Sony already passed 3 million sales but they won't give numbers right now... wait financial results.

I don´t believe that for a second unless they announce it shortly. They announced the millionmark and when they passed 2 million, it would only benefit them to also announce reaching 3 million. The financials aren´t far off but considering their need for publicity, they would announce it.

They already said they would ship 3 million by the end of december. This is the end of december and it seems pretty hard to find a ps4.

I don't how they could not have sold 3 millions.

(they wouldn't say that if they were not going to ship at least 3 million consoles)

I don't think there is going to be an announcement for every millions sold.
The next announcement should be 5 millions.

I am sure atleast MS will announce every milestone they can reach, since they have seem to have the need to "show off" towards Sony in this race.

MS only "shows off" when Sony makes some kind of announcement.

You must have slept through last gen then.

ooo doggie that sounds like some good old fashioned bias comin out. "dont believe for a second", "considering their.need.for publicity"... apparently according to your.own metric they cant have reached 3 million because your theory doesnt allow for that to have occurred. ever consider that maybe you're wrong?

Well, we know PS4 has passed 2.1 million units sold and X1 has passed 2.0 million sold. These are apparently sell-throughs too customers. All well and good.

But we haven´t heard one thing since! I would expect some announcment that PS4 has reached 3 million or X1 2.5 million but not one word at this crucial time in the holidays.

WiiU is making good strides in Japan, which is awesome news (I sure hope it can go against my own words and become a great seeling system, only time will tell) but I want to hear more about the other two 8th gen consoles.

How big do you think the sales are? Are you worried that this 8th generation is extremely front-loaded and that sales will drop of quite heavily after the holidays?

I expect Jan and Feb to be slow months for both Sony and MS. If we see another spike it will probably be March for MS due to Titanfall and possibly Sony due to Infamous, but based off previous sales for the Infamous series I don't expect it to be a system seller. I don't think we will see amazing numbers for either console next year until Aug/sept dues to Destiny and a larger game library/more first party AAA titles.

Of course I can and might just aswell be wrong about it. On this site most of us only have theories about how well the consoles are doing. I don´t believe for a second that Sony would not make a big deal of a 3 million mark, but of course I can be wrong.

Also, just as Sony crave publicity, so does MS since, as I said previously, MS does everything to "show off" right now. I am biased, as are all of us, but I have been critical towards both MS, Sony and Nintendo in my posts.

My thoughts exactly, I also believe Sony will see quite the release in Japan. I am more worried of the sales long term and am even more worried since we hear so little after all the announcments at the beginning.

ah I just meant biased to your theory. affiliation means nothing.
the alternative is that they simply announced initial usa and then initial eu. perhaps it was just coincidence that it was 1 and 2 milion.

You mean June, for Watch Dogs ;)

Sure there will be some weeks with fewer sales but I don't expect low average sales for the first year with such a great line-up on both consoles. The year after that we'll have the Halos and Uncharteds so pürobably a big jump in sales as well. Who knows whatr will happen after that.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If Sony'd start announcing every milestone for the PS4 people would just start asking about the Vita and that'd be embarassing for them. :D
Seriously though, this whole thing about the PS4 not having sold 3 million yet is based on the theory that they'd announce that number, which is nothing but speculation.
