Sony announcement is probably the next milestone(5 million sold). If you are not familiar with Sony they are usually hush hush about their sales.

They're definitely waiting until after this week - should be huge numbers for all.

Sony is definitely past 3M, now. Probably closing in on 3.5M. Not only did they get more shipments to the US, but they also had launches in more regions in the last few weeks. One insider suggested that they shipped ~500K for the Asia launch.

MS, on the other hand, is probably just over 2M. They aren't seeing much demand in some regions in EU. I'm guessing final sales for the year is going to be ~3.5M PS4s vs ~2.5M Ones.

I seriously don't think PS4 is passed 3 million yet, its probably pretty close in any case just based looking the sales figures the last couple weeks. Its not out in Japan yet as well and it will get a big booth off the launch most likely. The Xbox is most likely over 2 million sold by now.

Sales will slow down after the initial rush.  Personally I think XB1 will slow down more due to the higher price.

Anecdotally, I've been trying to sell a new XB1 Day One for over a week.  I have only had people offer between $400 and $440.

Announcement: XB1 users have cursed at their Kinect 100 Million times. j/k but this is the kind of announcement we got from MS before.

Would love to see some improvements first. Imho both "next gen" consoles seem to be rushed out. F.i. PS user interface is a mess, no audio discs, blue ray needed an update, all those things which are going to be included in 2014.
The Starting Line up KZSF and Knack are polished games with lack of innovation and feel somehow rushed out as well.
I mean come on guys you've had years and years to bring a console with solid content.
To everybody of you who desperately await your PS is my advice to wait until next year, go and play your PS3's, coz right now PS4 is an unfinished System without games. And Greatness awaits for sure in 2014, but not today.
