Even the DS+Wii were doomed

it's people who keep wishing for their doom so they can play their games on other platforms.

1984 NES: Nintendo won't have a chance in the videogaming market. Videogames are DEAD.
1990: Sega Genesis will crush the Snes. They're out of the market.
1996: N64 + cartridges. DOOOM
2001: Gamecube has no DVD or CD support. DOOOM
2006: Remote control is just a gimmick. DOOOOOOM.
2012: Wii U is struggling -> Nintendo goes 3rd party (...yeah right)

I think it's a combination of people genuinely analysing poor sales, Nintendo fans playing the victim card and blowing things way out of proportion, and...Toastboy.

Of course you're right that they lost some shares with GC and N64, but I just wanted to emphasize the whole "dooom" and "they're going bankrupt" stuff :)

I would say that  you usually start with the most important contributor.

Lost some share? They went from the undisputable console leader to almost irrelevant. Those 2 gens where DOOM gens for Nintendo in the console business.
