While I agree this thread is kind of misleading. I do get the point of the OP and what he/she is trying to say. But at the same time when I see games like Wii Sports, the ORIGINAL Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, Tetris(even thought his isn't really a nin game so to speak), two pokemon games and then 4 other "Mario" games. It kind of make me feel torn. Glad to Nin in the all-time top 15 100% through and through but sad to see it mostly comes from games that were out when I was a kid. And Mario and Pokemon only...it makes it look like those are really the ONLY nintendo games that sell.

And that makes me kind of sad personally. I mean I know the market is flooded with FPS and most people say that COD, Halo, Uncharted ETC are getting used and made to much. But then I look at Nin and say that Mario has been doing the SAME DANG ON THING for 20+ years! Trying to save a princess, fighting koopa, jumping on Turtles, driving a go-kart, just in 2d and 3d. But that never gets talked about...at least not that I know of really.

And then looking at the present I don't like the way things are looking for Nin Hardware(home console anyway) and software wise for Nin. Oh well anyway sorry my "rant" was all over the place. But good thread with some good numbers none the less!

This is a top 15 game list by platform, just like it is available on vgchartz, the website you're registered on to come to this thread and say it needs to be redone in hope somebody may listen to your tosh. Too bad I've already had a chat with a mod and everything is fine. Know your place, kids. You are average random users nobody cares. Mods already have a headache on this website.

And also for the hardware, it is a top 15 by platform, that's why you don't find a xbostation, which combined sales would trump Nintendo, but mashing platforms together, would be in my sincere opinion, retarded.

GTAV is in 6th, about 1.5 Million units behind Wii Play. Will probably break into the Top 5 before 2014.

Beauce they need to buy a Nintendo console if they want to play those games... and.. well that's about it... some people you can't understand no matter how much you try :)

Don't forget to combine sales for tetris on every console it was released since the 70's.

Also, Angry Birds is available on a shitload of platforms, you gonna have fun with that.

Just make clear on the title that it is the most sold games by mashing platforms together, otherwise you gonna have seece posting every 5 minutes that it needs to be locked and redone because it is misleading :P

The conclusion that the OP makes, that Nintendo shouldn't get out of the hardware business because their past consoles sold well, is an absolute joke.

Sony TVs used to sell like hotcakes as well, does that mean that they shouldn't get out of the TV business/completely overhaul the way they're handling that business at the moment?

There are certainly arguments that can be made for Nintendo to stay in the hardware business, but "they used to sell really well" is literally the worst point you can make for that.

There is a low level of civility in this thread, and that needs to change. Do not antagonize countervailing arguments, Francis, and others should simply make their counterpoints instead of simply calling for the thread to be locked (looking at you, Seece)
