I wish more games were like this, I'm tired of the giant push for the best graphics and the rest of the game isn't optimized properly.

Well. Pretty much, granted allot of work would need to go into it to downgrade it to a level where it's acceptable.
If you downscale Oblivion for instance (An Xbox 360/Playstation 3 game.) you could run it on hardware equivalent to the origional Xbox.
However it would look like this:
Note: Lack of shadows, lighting, lower geometry, lower resolution, worse textures, reduced shaders etc'.
However it would still run with decent framerates.

But then what was the point of stating that "3D World could run on Wii with downgrades"?

You may need to check who posted that. :P

I wasn't saying you did, I was just saying, for the reasons you stated, it's all but a meaningless statement.
I'm impressed. A game as graphically taxing as this would quite clearly constantly dip below 60fps.

You're trying to brush my comment off as because I say remove HD assets, that any game that's built on the PS3 could run on the PS2, which isn't the case. It's clear that Super Mario 3D World at 480p without the lightning would look very similar to Super Mario Galaxy. Run a game like DMC4 on the PS2 and you're going to have to make a substantial amount of changes for it to run at 30fps.
So the way you're trying to spin my comment, why stop there, all these games could run on the PSX or N64.

But it's not just the resolution and lighting that separate 3D World from Galaxy, it's also textures, shadows, effects...

Just got through this conversation.
Thank you for stating the obvious. His argument is moronic.
You could downgrade just about any games and make them run on a console from the preceding generation. Less polygons here, lower picture resolution, lower resolution textures, a little less particle effects... -__-
Shadowfall must be an upscaled PS3 titles, and Ryse could easily run on the 360 almost as is. ¬_¬

Hardly. Super Mario Galaxy runs 60fps as well, not like it couldn't produce better effects if it only ran at 30fps.
I'm not even going to argue something that wasn't even my main point to begin with. I said that in passing. You don't want to admit that Super Mario 3D World can run on the PS360 when I single out just one game so you grasp a minor comment in my post to get me to follow your lead and argue about that. You avoid the comment of Devil May Cry 4 that runs 720p, can have more going on screen at once than Super Mario 3D World does, better graphics, and it runs at 60fps without frame drops. Then I also point out that Super Mario 3D World is only confirmed to be native 720p and is upscaled to 1080.
Super Mario 3D World can assuredly run at the same framerate and resolution on the PS360 as it can on the Wii U. Don't act so butthurt about it. Uncharted could probably run on the Wii U. I'm not going to argue over it just because it's on my preferred console. The only thing that makes these games not possible at running on the other system is that they're first party and they never will, not that they can't actually run on them. Except for the 360, it wouldn't be able to handle Uncharted.
