You're trying to brush my comment off as because I say remove HD assets, that any game  that's built on the PS3 could run on the PS2, which isn't the case.  It's clear that Super Mario 3D World at 480p without the lightning would look very similar to Super Mario Galaxy.  Run a game like DMC4 on the PS2 and you're going to have to make a substantial amount of changes for it to run at 30fps.  

So the way you're trying to spin my comment, why stop there, all these games could run on the PSX or N64.   

But it's not just the resolution and lighting that separate 3D World from Galaxy, it's also textures, shadows, effects...
