Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Wii U get discontinued soon??

If they are going to release another console they should start prepping to release it 2 years ahead of Sony/MS (they're gonna need the head start) as well and no more of this "last gen chipset" nonsense, it should be the first 4K capable gaming console and it should be made for the Western market first, not Japan (where console's are dead).

So they have these troll thread's here too ? Also wii u isn't going any where, but i can see the tablet getting the ax next year, so it can take a massive price cut. Looking at the 3ds play book, which got rid of the 3d to make a cheaper model. I think they will announce "wii u pro" next year with no tablet for 50-80$ cheaper, maybe with a xenoblade HD pack in.

That last part is 100% wishful thinking and you know it! A model without the gamepad included seems pretty likely though, but it wont be as easy to make happen as with the 3DS dropping 3D.

If they can get the Wii U down to $199.99 by the time Mario Kart 8 launches they may have a chance at having a respectable 30 million-ish userbase, which is at least decent.

Iwata always has said they waited too long to drop the GameCube to $99.99.

I don't think they should abandon the tablet pad though ... go ahead and make a Nintendo Land 2 and bundle it together with the pad. Just sell it seperately.

You have to get the console in people's homes first though, that's more important than trying to sell a controller.

Worst plan ever.

You can't be serious...I'm tired of hearing this over and over, Nintendo is not gonna cut support for the Wii U, they would lost trust with the consumer and screw themselves over, its way better to keep supporting the WIi U and whether the storm, they have way more than enough money in the bank.

I agree. The damage they would do by discontinuing the console would be greater than the loss they would make. Also I reckon nintendo will revamp the wii U this year and possibly get back to profitability. Their sales this year will als beconsiderably higher due to the exclusives though still wont match ps4/x1 sales. Overall it will be a successful console ending up in a gamecube-like position.

Wii U will not hit the sales of the Gamecube, yet Nintendo must continue to support it until 2017 at least.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Sold my Wii U and I am happy

WiiU without tablet for $149 would be awesome!

the only negative sale i can think off is when more people return the product more than other people buying a new wii u... which is almost impossible to happen

selling a wii u wont make  negative sales....
