Forums - Nintendo - Gamestop dates Super Smash for April 8th?

I could see it. The game looks far along and they could exploit the lull on PS4 and XBOne by hitting with Mario, DK, MK8 and Smash one after another. If the system has momentum they don't even need a big Christmas title for 2014 but it could be Zelda or something crazy like a Mario FPS which would be massive.

A Mario FPS?

Is that a typo? lol

Late 2014 is the earliest I expect the game. Iwata himself expressed his desire to see the game finished by then, so I believe that's the deadline. Could be delayed a year? Sure. That's what happened with Twilight Princess, though that was for the purpose of releasing it as a Wii launch title.

No matter what, I'm dead certain that the game will be shown at E3 2014. It may even be announced before then, if Nintendo wants people to continue buying Wii U consoles after the holiday season is finished.

That is certain, but releasing late 2014 is a bit of a stretch. Nintendo are still struggling with HD development and the chances of it getting delayed are rather high. So far we have had W101, Pikmin 3, DK:TF, and Wii Fit U delayed.

Yeah, Nintendo confirmed Zelda U will be shown at E3 2014 a few months back.  Aonuma mentioned it at a press event for Link Between Worlds or something like that.   I still say Zelda U is 2015, though.

Don't forget Wii Party and Game & Wario! As for Zelda U releasing in 2014, my reasons for saying yes is that they were gonna unveil it at E3 2013 and they've made a point of not making us wait too long for games after they're announced. Every other game unveiled at E3 will be releasing by the end of 2014, so why not Zelda aswell.

Zelda Wii U will NOT launch in 2014. I'm prepared to bet on it.

I'll take you up on that bet! Same conditions as the rest of the bets in me signature?

You're on.

Awesome, though my signature is getting too big! D:

I'd expect Kart in April and Smash in June.

Seems plausible, the very fact that we have seen more of this than MK8 makes me think that it isn't impossible.
They seem to have come quite far in development.

Well I'm sure if they showed MK8 images every day we'd see how much further a long it is.

I never bet, because betting is foolish, but I have a strong feeling it will be out by Dec. 2014. Why? Because it's been in development since before they even started Wind Waker HD (they expressly said that they only started that remake after exploring various art styles for Zelda U), it's honestly been in development since shortly after Skyward Sword released. Add to that the fact that the WWHD and 3DS Zelda dev teams have (confirmed) been absorbed into the Zelda U team, and the fact that Nintendo KNOWS they absolutely have to knock it out of the park with several huge games in 2014 to make up for their blunders in 2013, and yeah.

That all adds up to Zelda U having a very strong chance of coming out next year. If it doesn't, it doesn't. But I think there's a very good chance.
