Too early. Wii U version would be too close to DK.
It could be only the 3DS version. I think Bravery Default is set to February on US, so it is a good time to keep the momentum on 3DS, but this games look like they are going to be released together.

I don't want them to rush, as long as they're working hard, I don't mind a longer wait.

I hope it's the real release date, that's the perfect time for me to get it. 

I would'nt be shocked if it was April. The lineup of PS4 and X1 games looks to be pretty thin next year and the best thing Nintendo can do is smother the market and grab all the attention back. Vita seems like a decent system honestly but Nintendo buried it so bad that even Sony looks to have given up on it. Kart + Smash + No good games on PS4/X1 = 3DS 2.0, no doubt in my mind. It will be funny to see Best Buy and Gamestop reshuffle the playstation and xbox stuff to the back again.

Even if it's true, you know they'll delay it.

Seems a bit early, hope the game isn't being rushed. Smash and Mario Kart are the main reasons why I would buy a WiiU.
