This is Nintendo though; they take forever to release their games. Skyward Sword and Pikmin 3 both took five years to make, both were delayed from their original release years. Twilight Princess suffered delays as well.

Project X, Fire Emblem, Yoshi and probably an unannounced title (Animal crossing? New IP? Mario Party? Wii sports?)
Nintendo wouldn't release a zelda if it wasn't ready and I doubt it'd by ready by 2014. Better yet it would probably compromise their 2015 line up. 2014 could definitely sustain with the titles currently announced. Having said that I doubt this news is true, Smash Bors release window is merely 2014, which always means later rather then sooner, whereas MArio kart is Specified for spring.

New Super Mario Bros. U2 and Wii Sports Club Resort.
Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee 3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046

Brawl and MK Wii both launched with in the same time scale so it's a plausible release date. Zelda U will also not be released next year even if it's near completion, next year is quite stacked for the U it will make much more strategic sense for it to be out in 2015 which will be a pivotal year for all next gens, the 7 games Nintendo has pegged for 2014 are fine as it is.
Do you guys even know Nintendo? There is no way Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and Smash Bros will be released in spring. If Smash Bros gets an April release, I'm confident that one of the other games (Mario Kart) will be pushed back. Mario Kart already has an autumn release window in Australasia, according to Wikipedia.
Nintendo hold back and delay games all the time, for better or worse.

Yes, but, TP was delayed specifically so that they could make a Wii port of it for Wii's launch, otherwise it likely could have been out much sooner. And SS they could afford to delay, because Wii was selling great, even in 2011. Now things are different. Now Wii U is struggling, and they know they need to deliver as much great content to it as possible. They can't afford to delay and delay and delay. That doesn't mean "rush it". It merely means have a larger dev team working on it. And as far as that's concerned, rumor is that this is the largest dev team assembled to work on any Nintendo game in their history. So I still stand by what I said.

Wii U was struggling early this year too, didn't stop them delaying Pikmin 3.
