Forums - Nintendo - What are your thoughts on Nintendo's Current Virtual Console on Wii U...?

It's not that good, but I can understand Nintendo with this one. While I love VC, it is not going to sell any consoles anytime soon. Is it even profitable at the moment? It's quite possible they are waiting it out untill they get more consuers onto the e-shop.

It's shit and they need to seriously fix it. The current games are fine, but they seriously need to match the Wii VC's library size with one massive VC update. And add Gamecube games. And then Wii games. PS4 is doing it with Gaikai. Step it up.

And Gaikai has a whopping ZERO games for the Playstation 4 right now.

Stop trolling.

It's terrible. Imagine what the Wii U Virtual Console could be:

- More save states through multiple user accounts
- Online play added to formerly local multiplayer games (Super Mario Kart!) and online leader boards (Starfox)
- Huge selection of classic Nintendo titles
- Inclusion of Gamecube and Dreamcast games
- Arcade versions (again, Mario Kart! F-Zero AX!)
- Remix versions of classic titles (Ocarina of Time Master Quest, beta stuff)

But Nintendo totally doesn't want to put any energy into this. They also refuse to drop the prices of the games. Some early NES games should be sold for 2$ or so. And they could have this huge output of games but they decided to let one lone person program all the VC games so they put up like 1 game per week.
Yeah, I'm sorely disappointed. The VC was one of the most important features to me.

Sony has explicit plans to release it's entire past games library digitally through Gaikai. The Wii U is only guaranteed up to N64 and that hasn't even happened yet. That's bull, especially when many games are already available on the Wii's VC. The Wii U should starting from where the Wii left off, not starting from scratch. No one's trolling. That's not acceptable.

Not happy at all. Needs more games for the 2 systems it has, and more systems.

couldn't care less. Retro games should be played the old fashion way on retro consoles. Plenty copies out there.

Very much a missed opportunity. There's no excuse in starting from scratch, they could have had a small team working on Miiverse and Gamepad adaption before the Wii U released, uploaded the entire Wii VC in one go, and then built from there.

Also I want to see Gamecube games!

I don't have a Wii U so I know the VC only from 3DS and Wii. But what I have to say is that those games are too damn expensive! I mean, 5 € for a friggin' Game Boy game? What the hell, Ninty?!

What do you think is appropriate ?

Way to few releases and 2 out 3 games are pointless
