It's shit and they need to seriously fix it. The current games are fine, but they seriously need to match the Wii VC's library size with one massive VC update. And add Gamecube games. And then Wii games. PS4 is doing it with Gaikai. Step it up.

And Gaikai has a whopping ZERO games for the Playstation 4 right now.

Stop trolling.

Sony has explicit plans to release it's entire past games library digitally through Gaikai. The Wii U is only guaranteed up to N64 and that hasn't even happened yet. That's bull, especially when many games are already available on the Wii's VC. The Wii U should starting from where the Wii left off, not starting from scratch. No one's trolling. That's not acceptable.

The VC's content is sorely lacking, but you're comparing it to vapourware. Gaikai is applying exactly zero pressure to Nintendo right now, because it doesn't actually exist, and nobody knows what terms, capabilities or limitations it will have.

Give me N64 games, Nintendo or GTFO. Mario 64 should be on there already, so should Wave Race 64.

Also I think people who bought a Wii U at launch/pre-price cut should be given some kind of reward. We put up with a lot of crap this year including that delay, if 3DS owners got Ambassador perks, so should early Wii U adopters.

I'd like a Xenoblade Wii digital download copy + Mario 64 VC download + maybe one more game.

I think Nintendo should VC perks to people who buy certain titles too. If you buy Wonderful 101, maybe you get a free download voucher for Xenoblade or something like that. It would be help some games IMO.

Disappointing, I am waiting for N64, GC and even downloadable Wii games. Even if they plan to remake some games in HD, they should still offer the originals until then. That could have been a huge help this past year!!

Maybe, that will change when they unify accounts and hit the VC harder.

No i dont agree with this at all, this leads to an idea of being entitled. No one forced anyone to buy a system at launch, you made your bed now you have to sleep in it...or sell it.

OT Dont have a Wii U but am I to believe that its worse than 3ds and even Wii's? Ow, IMHO judging from recent years they really dont care that much

Slow release, overpriced, and even with the promotion, they are nothing doing something great. Only SNES/NES titles. Input lag. Most incridible is the fact that you can play all the games on wii mode, but not on wiiu. I even feel that nintendo make the wii mode be on game pad with no support to the gamepad controls itself to avoid people not buying the upgrade. And iwata said in last meeting that he wanted to expand it. So do it!!

But, as somebody said, it can't be the focus, because even if all the library from nintendo and sega consoles got released tomorrow, only 50K would buy the console because of that. Mike was actually rigth about this.

Edit: About the ones that bought the console before console, you got the famicon 30cent promotion(the only thing that nitnendo did rigth about the vc).

Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. The early adopter bonuses  are supposed to be the deluxe digital promotion and the 30 cent VC games. Depending on how much you buy, could actually be worth more than a free major release and a couple VC games.

I haven't even done the Wii transfer yet due to the WiiU VC... was waiting until they offerered at least the Mega Drive as an upgrade option before doing that or at least if they fixed the Gamepad to play Wii content... Still waiting!!!

Even got 2000 Wii points waiting to decide where to spend it, if SNES or future compatible MD games... had an eye on a few WW games but those would never work on the Gamepad - only the VC titles have an upgrade possibility.

Mate..... I will take a deep breath.....

Your Wii points carry over and so do all your VC and Wii Ware games if you system transfer. You can play the old games on the TV as you have in the past

but you can now (with the latest system update) play them on the Gamepad only..... You lose nothing to make the switch now!

I'm not going to go into detail why it isn't so easy, since that Wii is a "family" Wii which is currently 2000km away from me.

Controlling the vWii with the Gamepad acting as a classic controller+display should have been available from launch. But after that recent update we only have the display for now.

To me that would have added more value to the system and the backwards compatibility. Spending more money on the Wii Shop side on VC or WW. But they didn't blend the OS in the same fashion as the 3DS with the DSi content. The Wii and WiiU should have been more unified, seamless. The legacy digital content should have been purchasable through the eShop, then you'd have a huge selection of VC and maybe continuing WW development (this happened to DSiWare on the 3DS).

And since these things didn't happen, they made me more wary of digital purchases. Reason why I'm not investing in an eShop digital collection and keep on going physical as long as I can.
