1 week = late ports ? ROFL. Batman NFS DeusEx thats late ports....
Former PS360 mainstreamers buy PS4 X1 versions so its obvious that those systems have quite good sales for the mainstream games.

What's the issue with that? Shooters are fun as hell. |
Don't ask me, tell that to those who used that as a downtalking point. You'd be hard pressed to find them now though
What a surprise... both about the topic and the author...
It never fails
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing
(mostly)
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
I'm not even going to read the other posts here, because even if it has already been said, it needs to be said as many times as possible. Those franchises do NOT have established user-bases on Nintendo consoles. Not only is that the case, but early-adopters for Wii U especially are not established customers of those franchises. The majority of early-adopters for Wii U are probably into Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and other popular Nintendo 1st (or 2nd) party titles.

Most Nintendo gamers don't give a shit about CoD or they buy it on another platform. Shouldn't of even brought up Mass Effect 3 on Wii U. |
I agree. I've been a Nintendo gamer my whole life. I decided to buy a 360 a few years ago, played it off and on again for a couple/few years to see what all these "hardcore" games were about. They had some fun aspects, but were also infested with nudity, unecessarily excessive violence, and seemed to all be centered around one basic gameplay style (shooting a gun). Needless to say, I sold my 360 and bought a Wii U and have been very happy with my decision. Nintendo games have more interesting gameplay styles, better art styles (not graphics, but art styles), and have a charming touch to them.
I had Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for 360 and then Halo Reach after. I'm tired of fps (none of them are as good as Goldeneye back in the n64 days anyway). I could care less about Ghost.

thats fair, but that doesnt explain the sales of games like COD Ghost and AC4 on Wii U versus those of the PS4/xone. Despite the fact that Wii U was already on the market for a year |
Third party games don't generally do very well on Nintendo platforms. The userbases are different, there's a lot more competition on Wii U already, and it's a reasonable assumption that the release of a new console so close to the launch of those games made a good number of people wait for the next-gen version when they were going to get a next-gen console anyway (in which case you have to remember that the audience for CoD/AC on PS3/X360 was huge, and not so much on Nintendo consoles).
Well if you think how the PS4 and X1 negatively affected PS360 sales then thats not impressive anymore because its people switching from PS360 to another platform.
That didnt happen with WiiU.
Oh yeah and Injustice is a LATE PORT COD Ghosts is not. And that also shows in its performance.

The Nintendo early adopters and the Playstation early adopters are a different audience.
Thats what the numbers tell you.
The Nintendo audience buys nintendo consoles for Nintendo games. Theres no surprise here. Its the preferred 2nd system choice because of it.

I agree with just about everything but the bolded. their wasnt anything for most of the year but yet software still didnt move. Hell i would go so far that their isnt much in the way of competition NOW. until Mario comes out. We got Pikmin that didnt light the charts on fire, same with W101, Zelda was a remake and bundled, Sonic, which little people bought. But I guess its audience. People wont like this but maybe some of these 3rd parties would not be wrong to pull support
I'm sure the software sales will be great and all, but I wouldn't bet on them just yet.
