It's a new gen and the ports are late by what, a couple of weeks max? Pff, this is ridiculous.

It's interesting.
I'd expect the $10 upgrade program to have made retail numbers relativly low on PS4, but I guess it didn't.
Also I wouldn't say the wii u's problem was late ports, but being a different ecosystem. A PS3 PS4 gamer is going to buy every game he can on PS4. However a PS3 Wii U gamer is going to feel compeled to keep getting multiplats on PS3. A wii to wii u gamer will of course buy everything on wii u.
Only 700k for CoD? When they'd get millions upon millions on day one on other Sony hardware? Activision will be reconsidering support as I type this.

It's like you enjoy rubbing it in.
Dude, you make this place unbearable at times.
Funny how Pezus simply stated facts in the OP and so many Nintendo fans got butthurt over them. Pretending that they weren't using late ports as an excuse as to why the games aren't selling. Lol how is the Wii U gonna become "everybody's" system when it can't even sell 3rd party games to sell its life? If Nintendo gamers only care about Nintendo games then why the hell do you guys even bother thinking tthey'll sell anything significant this gen.

While the creator of this thread is gloating about COD Ghost being the best selling game on PS4 and selling 3.5 more then the WiiU version of COD BO2, he's forgot to mention that COD Ghosts is the only game worth playing on the PS4. PS4 only as four games worth playing Battlefield 4, COD Ghosts, AC4 and Killzone. All of which are simple graphical upgrade of current gen games, other then Killzone but that game isn't the killer apps it could of been. |
For launch thats pretty strong. Also I'd add Need for SPeed to that list.

While I personally disagree that Battlefield and Call of Duty are worth playing, if they were, it would make for a fairly strong launch lineup. Most launch lineups have one or two games worth playing. Wii U had ZombiU, Nintendoland, and maybe NSMBU if you're somehow not burned out on Mario by now, and X-Box One has Killer Instinct and DR3. If PS4 had four launch titles legitimately worth playing, it would easily have the strongest lineup out of the bunch.
Then again, that all hinges on CoD and BF being worth playing to begin with...

I knew it was only a matter of time until this thread got made.
Demographic differences. Big games with established fanbases already on Sony hardware will perform better on PS4 (i.e. Call of Duty; Assassin's Creed). Family-orientated games (often with established fanbases on Nintendo hardware) will perform better on Wii-U (i.e. Sonic; Just Dance).
No surprises here, no matter how much people like to admit that the opposite is true. Sure, there's some dedicated people around who will buy LEGO on PS4 or CoD on Wii-U, but they're not the norm and will shrink as time goes on.
Makes me wonder which way support will go in future though. Will all consoles keep getting everything? I'd imagine so, but still.

Sadly Need for Speed fanchise as whole is just not what it used to be.... I don't like the new open world structure with any clear objective in the game. I just got Need for Speed: Most wanted on WiiU how the heck can that game get a metacritic of 86.
I guess I just like game that are more linear. The game could use at least one clear main story line.
