Let me rephrase it so you can understand it then. The majority of the characters in KI are for beginners. The KI gameplay system is even designed so that people don't really have to spend any time learning a character's move set (automatic combos). That for me, is not a legitimate fighter. Sorry if I offended you, but it is what it is.

I've been playing Killer Instinct on Xbox One and learning to play with characters isn't that difficult. However, mastering a character and learning affective tactics is another story. Your argument isn't valid.
Simply put, if you can see a significant difference between a beginner and skilled player, its a legitimate fighter.

Mastering characters that are supposed to be easy to master doesn't make my argument invalid. Especially when the same tactics for one character can translate easily to several others. Let's use Virtua Fighter as a comparison. A skilled player can master Akira, but may never master Kage-Maru and Lau because the styles of play are completely different. Mastering Killer Instinct characters is basically is basically knowing how to utilize their one or two unique abilities, because the core of the gameplay (combos) is essentially the same for each character. My main characters in the original KI were Jago, Cinder, SabreWulf, Glacier, and on occasion T.J. Combo. There wasn't much I had to memorize for each character because they were mostly the same in terms of mechanics. All of them had combo strings, and even their special moves could be pulled off with similar or identical controller motions. KI is not a legitimate fighter in my opinion.
