Let me rephrase it so you can understand it then. The majority of the characters in KI are for beginners. The KI gameplay system is even designed so that people don't really have to spend any time learning a character's move set (automatic combos). That for me, is not a legitimate fighter. Sorry if I offended you, but it is what it is.

I've been playing Killer Instinct on Xbox One and learning to play with characters isn't that difficult. However, mastering a character and learning affective tactics is another story. Your argument isn't valid.

Simply put, if you can see a significant difference between a beginner and skilled player, its a legitimate fighter.

That can be said for a vast majority of fighters/arena style games. Tekken, All-stars, Marvel vs Capcom come to mind in my experience (they are the last 3 fighting games i've purchased)

The second bold is actually a pretty good point, kinda like a spammer and an actual fighter. Sure, you can learn a few good moves with a character and use them in small variety, but a practiced and seasoned player will tear you to pieces.

Lol many disagree with me and it's beloved by hardcore fighting fans??? Okay, we'll see how well it fareswith the hardcore fighter crowd. Hopefully, a lot better than how it was recieved at EVO 2013.

Most crowds boo MS products. Anyhow, the game is a hit. Most downloaded item on Xbox One!

No shit. It's free. -__-

OT: Not really. It's at a 73 meta which is respectable but a look into double helix's past games shows that they haven't done anything big until KI. Still, KI seems to be doing everything right, with the only gripe being the lack of launch content, which I think we can blame that more on MS wanting to push this game as one of their big launch titles.

In a year from now, we will see how the game was handled, DLC, updates, etc and then we can come back and answer this question more effectively.

Also, isn't the game technically free to download with Jago so you would think it is the most downloaded thing on Xbox One...cause its free to play.

Free games aren't always the most downloaded items though. I mean I don't see Happy Wars or Ascend dominating the Xbox Live charts.

KI is awesome and that's motivating people to get it. I'm even seeing players not just using Jago. Its a hit!

Yeah, free games on a console that just launched. Obviously, gamers already have hundreds of such games to choose from.

Are you even trying?

There are choices, but none are as awesome as KI.

In fact, KI would be the most downloaded game on any console!

You're kidding, right?

Let's see the choices:

Killer Instinct
Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason
XBox Fitness

Damn, that's some nice choices there. -__-

With your logic those should be number 1, 2, and 3. But KI is on top while those other titles are behind $60 downloads.

Give it up, KI is a massive exclusive. You need to accept that.

You completely missed the point. There are no other free games for gamers to choose from.

I'm not questioning the quality of KI. It's the one game that I'd get if I had an XBO right now. But saying it's a massive success because it's the most downloaded game on Live, when it's free for everyone who got this newly released console, where the library is still extremely thin... It's disingenious at best. But disingenious is the way you are most of the time around here, so that's not surprising.

Even if it wasn't free it would still be the top download. Crimson Dragon is number two. Price and only being available digitally are why its doing doing so well.

Lastly, KI is not a Live download. Its just a games download.
