Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Direct is 3DS Focused...Really Nintendo?

They just can't win with the Wii U. They are focusing on the most promising item they have, which will always be their handhelds. Everyone knows where their problems are and its a little late to fix that. The most they can do is get some third party exclusives form western devs because the Japanese ones wont get them the profit they desire.

This direct could be about that major update that was delay back in October.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

i think we'll see another Mega Direct in December/January after the holiday season, there's no point in taking the spotlight away from the games coming out this holiday season

Yes, there is a point, consoles are sold based not only on what is coming very soon, but on the promise of what may come in the future. Tell me how much people will buy a PS4 and Xbox One because the next kingdom heart will be available who knows when?, same thing applies for Final Fantasy XV, hell some bought their PS3 just because FF versus XIII was coming (and it never did).

You don't sell based only on current games, you also sell based on a bright future (and hype) and Nintendo needs to sell as much as possible consoles to get support from third parties.

Don't they usually make a Wii U and 3DS within a couple of weeks of each other? Wouldn't be surprised to see the Wii U one a few weeks before Christmas.

Nintendo fucked themselves from total third party support for sure because they never consulted with third parties about their specs. They might get some but they even if they did increase their console sales on principle certain devs wouldn't because they laid it out in 2011-2012 that they wanted increased specs (obviously to Sony and Microsoft because they are the only two who will listen).

Poor Wii U. Not even Nintendo likes the system.

The Wii U is dUmed.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

And that a bad thing ? No matter how hard Nintendo tried, Wii U will always struggle when it come to third party games and sales. I glad Nintendo focused more on 3DS cause Wii U is a mess. The Wii should be their last hardware console

That's true, however they already announced plenty of 2014 games to look foward to, including the biggest ones being Smash n Kart. Nintendo will be focusing on those games after this holiday season is over. Also, I thought the Wii already established the fact that it doesn't matter how many consoles Nintendo sells, third partys will never fully support them. That's why they should stop wasting their time and resources trying to appease them, and instead focus on the third partys that are on their side and increase internal development to the point where they can make 12+ games a year for each of their systems.
