Rushed as well, about 6-8 hours. Pokemon is the same way, some people just power thru stuff i guess. Super Mario 64 can be beaten in 5 hours o.O

Collectibles in galaxy and the new super series unlock additional levels. If this game follows that structure (I don't know) then it's not comparable.

You mean rewards?
Because in many cases, it doesn't give you a little cookie when you succeed.
But if you're asking if those secrets add fun gameplay moments? Then yes, they do.
I know. Crazy shit, right? Adding fun and gameplay to a video game via challenges and secrets. Who would have thought?

guess im gonna have to break it down to you middle school style. Say i play GTA and their is a special gun in the game, now I dont need to get this gun to finish the game, but it is one of the more powerful weapons in the game. That changing the game, thats adding something tangible to it.
I play Rayman and whether i get all the Lums in one level or not it makes no difference, Rayman wont get an extra powerup or anything. In that regard its not different than a trophy/achievement. Lets use some common sense.
Oh and FYI if you find pleasure in going thru the same stages to get little trinkets then thats your prerogative, alot of people dont. Crazy right? lets not get so wound up next time. mmkay?

Oh right. Like the hat blocks in 64. That would unlock new stuff in levels.
And you're the one that came arguing with me. Not the other way around.

Super Mario 3D Land isn't like that, and by relation I'd also assume Super Mario 3d World isn't either. Although in Super Mario 3D Land, once finishing the game, the game does allow you to play as Luigi and unlocks a special set of worlds and the coins you acquire allow you to unlock levels in those worlds. Unfortunately, atleast half of the levels are the same and you're just are running from a ghost who mirror's every action you do. As for prior 3D Mario titles. I've only played Super Mario 64. The game is average at best. Small levels that you repeatedly collect a star and get kicked out after each one. The levels aren't "completely different" as you say. You just have different objectives. Sometimes a cannon might lower from the ground if you've met the requirements to unlock a later star, sometimes by choosing one star you'll have to do a race where the star wouldn't be available otherwise, etc. I'd say 3D Land is the best, as it is similar to classic Mario style, just too easy of a game. It didn't take close to eight hours though, so maybe the person who reviewed 3D World did the special worlds. |
Getting every coin, every secret exit and beating the game as both Mario and Luigi while also getting top of the flag as both of them (I did both could have been just one) while also never using the white leaf gives you 100% and that damn mirror shadow always was a pain in the butt and made it more difficult/frantic as well as more fun and rewarding on getting through it.
That is where the fun was, can't wait for 3D World.

i was talking to baldrskies and then you put your 2 cents in. LOL your commenting on HIS post
That may be true if you just rush through the main stages.
Try to get every collectible/star and open every secret path/extra level on it to see if it will last only 8 hours......
The title of this thread is misleading, should be corrected
