Saying a game is short but there's collectables or secrets to find for longer playtime, is exactly the same as saying a game is short but achievement/trophy hunting adds more playtime.

Just something to keep in mind.

unless thoe collectibles and secrets add something to the game. in alot of cases it doesnt

You mean rewards?

Because in many cases, it doesn't give you a little cookie when you succeed.

But if you're asking if those secrets add fun gameplay moments? Then yes, they do.

I know. Crazy shit, right? Adding fun and gameplay to a video game via challenges and secrets. Who would have thought?

guess im gonna have to break it down to you middle school style. Say i play GTA and their is a special gun in the game, now I dont need to get this gun to finish the game, but it is one of the more powerful weapons in the game. That changing the game, thats adding something tangible to it.

I play Rayman and whether i get all the Lums in one level or not it makes no difference, Rayman wont get an extra powerup or anything. In that regard its not different than a trophy/achievement. Lets use some common sense.

Oh and FYI if you find pleasure in going thru the same stages to get little trinkets then thats your prerogative, alot of people dont. Crazy right? lets not get so wound up next time. mmkay?

Oh right. Like the hat blocks in 64. That would unlock new stuff in levels.

And you're the one that came arguing with me. Not the other way around.

i was talking to baldrskies and then you put your 2 cents in. LOL your commenting on HIS post
