It did do better, i think around a million more possibly 1.5mil! I compared 2012 only cuz that year had more sales than 2011 and comparing it with 2013 while 2013 is an extra several hundred thousand ahead! So if 2013 stays ahead it'll be YoY!
But i guess i'll add 2011 just for the hell of it! I'll add it wen 2nd week number show up
Cool thread. I think the 2DS and pokemon will push 2013 far past 2012.

I agree, especially with 2014. However, I could easily see us being wrong because the 3ds family may sell for real cheap holiday of 2015 (due to pending release of next handheld console in maybe 2016). Nintendo doesn't have a problem lowering the prices of their consoles when they can be sold for less and still make a profit, so I think by 2015 the 3ds family will be no more than $130 (XL) and the other two closer to $100 or less.
That's right folks, I'm predicting hte 3ds family of consoles to sell 20 million in 2015 (10million of which will come in the last quarter).
Not to take anything away from Nintendo, but I just realized how awkwardly the 2DS is advertised from the OP. o_O

this is the better year of 3DS software wise.
pokemom, zelda, fire emblem, luigi mansion, animal crossing, mario & luigi dream team, donkey kong
also a 2DS release.
i bet in 18 mil, but i will be not surprised if it reach 20 mil.
Off to a great start, 2DS and Pokemon should ensure it does better overall!

Thing is I feel it will do better than 2011 so let's see where it's at! I remember the 3DS had a horrid holiday season by its standards last year. Particularly had a horrible November (and Black Friday) in America. It should kill last year's numbers which were barely 250k for BF weekend (even the DS did better).

If 2013 does the same as 2012 holiday then we will have 15mil this year, even if its overtracked here 2013 is YoY by i think 600k-700k. This holiday season if all goes well, itcan be anywhere between 16mil-19mil sales!
