Why don't PC software and game developers create something that doesn't require a mouse and keyboard setup? Touch / motion controls are SOOOO much better...

Motion controls = control options for gamers not coordinated enough to use standard dual-analog game pads.

Fuck dual analog for playing shooters.  I'm done with shooters but the Wiimote+nunchuck is far superior to dual analog.  I'd rather point at something that I want to shoot than fuck around with dual analog.  For FPS it goes mouse+keyboard > wiimote+nunchuck > dual analog.  Sure this is my personal opinion but it sounds like you never even tried wiimote+nunchuck combo for a FPS.

Excluding mini-games like Wii Play's Duck Hunt and Link's Crossbow, I've played Prime 3, Red Steel, The Conduit and COD4 Reflex Edition on Wii, and Prime 3 was the only one where I feld the Wiimote + Nunchuk combo served the game better than dual-analog setup, but that's only because Prime 1&2's controls on GC were so cumbersome to begin with that Prime 3's were a vast improvement in comparison.  The Conduit's was a good attempt, but I'd still take the dual analog setup, and the other two, the less said about those games the better.

From the looks of it you're not a big fan of shooters which is fine, but for most of us who enjoy them the dual analog setup works just fine.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

LOL I'm with you here.  What does that even mean?  They're not even remotely related to one another.

To me its simple, you just don't want to injure yourself when playing video games. I mean, it wouldn't be fun if you hyper extend your lower butt muscles.

Because The "overworld" in the game is pretty much a hub world type set up and people say they want to explore like in Wind Waker or Twilight princess but shit on every Mario game becaus they want a Hubworld like its a fucking Kingdom Hearts game

Is the idea here that this represents some kind of contradiction? Because it really isn't. Different design elements work better in different situations.

Wii controls were basically broken at first. By the time Nintendo finally got them working as promised (via a peripheral) no one cared anymore.

Efficiency, in all likelihood. Mario games don't tend to have very "natural" feeling worlds, so some abstraction to remove the tedium of backtracking makes sense.
