Forums - Nintendo - Is Wii U worth buying?

I use to like PlayStation the most, and I use to like Sega the most, before that.
Why get a Wii U:

Watch these trailers:

Batman Markham City Armored Edition

ZombiU

Nintendo Land Ninja Castle

Wii U Golf Prototype

That will show an example about what million new ways you can play.

Now for most important reasons to get a Wii U:

The Wonderful 101 (one of the best video games ever made, EVER)

Mario Kart 8

Bayonetta 2

Sonic Racing Transformed with Motion Controls

EarthBound

You can video chat with others for more better help in video games.

5 players local multiplayer in all games including the Call of Duty games (CAN YOU DIG IT)

Star Fox U

Metroid U

You can play most multiplatform games on Wii U as they release.

If sells are good enough, you can play all multiplatform games on Wii U during the entire 8th Gen

Exclusive features in multiplat games as shown in such games as Assassin's Creed 3 on Wii U.

Off the top of my head, that's all I can think of.

It has a HD GPGPU clocked at 800 MHz draining 3 Hz of so of power. It has more then 400 Shader Cores and a Vertex Performence of over 1 Billion Polygons.

It has 1,0XX TFLOPS, but the PS4 has 1,8XX TFLOPS.

It does 1080p in 3D at 60 fps.

I hope I have been of help to you.

No it doesn't.

Regardless of the Wii U's issues, HDMI can't do that.

Given the amount of Wiis kicking about, if it is possible I would try to borrow someones Wii for a week and rent or borrow a couple of key Nintendo games for it, like 2d Mario and Kart or Zelda. If you really like it, then it would seem that the WiiU would be a natural progression since most of the franchises will or currently have sequels on the WiiU.

By Christmas it will definitely be worth buying. Why? Because it will finally have a decent library of games including at least one system seller.

Coming from someone who owns a WiiU, no. Since buying the WiiU ive got three games. Wind Waker, New Super Mario Bros U (Which I didnt like), and ZombiU. Neither game would i say are must have games. While good games they certainly dont justify spending $300+.

Sorry if people disagree with me but I will say no on this one.

Yes, do I have money though? No.

Hence my problem.

I love my Wii U and don't regret it for an instant. But for me, having the family over on Christmas day and playing bowls with the Wiimote is as good as it gets :).

I bought mine last Christmas with Nintendo land and then got zombieu which was excellent, after that we only had Mario u and Luigi u.

and I've gotten shut of it this month, it started off ok but novelty tails off, I don't think I'd buy one again

it ended up not being a console for me

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and try Pikmin3 and The Wondeful 101.

They are the best games on the system, charming beyond imagination and they shout the Gameplay>everything else mantra from the rooftops.

Oh God, Pikmin3.... <3

For someone who doesn´t have much time to play, or don´t play so much, I assume that the WiiU is not only worthy but also the best option among the new devices. It´s cheaper, it already has a good library of games,, there´s some interesting 1st and 2nd party exclusive stuff coming next year (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, DK, X, Bayonetta, SMT x FE etc.), and its online community is friendly.
