If you're willing to wait for Nintendo's major first party and don't have any other consoles then yes. If you have any of the other brands then no, because the libraries they've amassed are much larger. The PS4 and Xbox One will amass larger libraries within the next two years than the Wii U and surpass it because of its lack of third party. The plus to that is that more games will have to be made personally for the Wii U.

This is like the guys standing around gamestop when i go in to buy a wii u game. Everybody wants to know if i like the system. The answer is in the eye of the beholder. For me its a family system. We loved our wii and we love our wii u. But everyone at my house loves nintendo games. Everything from wii sports to mario, luigi, zelda, and most things in between. So what i tell people who ask is that if you like the games nintendo makes you will love the wii u. Its gott allot of cool features and the gamepad is great but it doesnt matter if it could wash your car. if u are not really into nintendo games you should get something else.

This is what's making me buy one this holiday season. I just... couldn't pass that up. Especially with friends to play with. It looks like fun even without friends! Here's one reason I can think of if you like Mario and games that is.

It really depends on what games interest you, If you like Nintendo first party games then I would say that the WiiU is worth it as there is a bunch of quality titles out already and a lot of great games coming.

I'd say if you do like the content WiiU has to offer, then buy WiiU at Xmas, I'd wait on getting a PS4/XB1 if you are thinking about that since nearly every system has a software drought for a while after launch, WiiU has good games available and a lot of Nintendo's biggest games coming in 2014.

I think it's important to note that I think WiiU is best as a second console, with a PS4/XB1 being your main console for next gen since Nintendo console's miss out on a lot of third party content, That being said I do think it will take a little while for PS4/XB1 to really get going fully. So that's why I suggest WiiU this year, then PS4/XB1 sometime in 2014/15.

But yeah, that's what I would do in your situation. But ultimately it's about what games you prefer and if you feel WiiU offers what you are seeking in a console :)
