Forums - Nintendo - Is Wii U worth buying?

ps3-sales! said:
No. Reasons why:

-Ps4 and Xbox one coming out soon are much more powerful. Everyone knows power = fun.

-The Vita is currently available.

-Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus coming out soon will provide you with 100+ hours of entertainment.

-You can get a Wii for like $40 to waggle all you want.

Not sure if serious because of the first point... ._.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

We can list the games that are available/ worth a purchase, but you have to evaluate if they are worth the 300 bucks entry price for yourdself

...hint: They are

Well it depends. Do you enjoy Nintendo's first-party games? Do you enjoy local co-op and multiplayer? Do you want to play or replay some of Nintendo's classic titles from earlier generations? If so, I say yes, get a Wii U.

If you don't like Nintendo games, want "cutting edge" console technology, and prefer online multiplayer, (with monthly fee) then go for X1 or PS4.

fixed.

Only you can answer that, look at the walkthroughs of games you find interesting on it.

What kinds of games do you like, and how do you like to play them?

I can't answer your question unless you answer mine.

Great nintendo games and a great community. Ther's really nothing else to say, other than that certain games have off screen play, wich adds to the experience. To me, that is more than enough.

I think it all comes down to who you are as a gamer.

If you're a self-proclaimed Nintendo fan, then yes, definitely an excellent purchase this holiday. $299 is an acceptable price (maybe even cheaper if you're lucky), Mario 3D Land looks stellar and the backlog consisting of Mario U, Luigi U, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD and the Wonderful 101 (not to mention the excellent Rayman Legends) is much more appealing than everything that'll be on the new consoles this year put together (my opinion).

If you're someone who likes at least some of Nintendo's properties, then I would say it's a good buy this year, but you may want to wait until next year which is going to be spectacular for the console. Jump in for sure when it becomes $50 cheaper.

If you're not really a Nintendo fan but don't have an aversion to them either and still consider yourself a gamer who wants to experience everything, then enjoy your PS4/XB1 for the foreseeable future but pick up a WiiU eventually; probably near the end of its life for $199 or less with a huge backlog for cheap.

If you don't like Nintendo's games and never cared about Nintendo consoles in the past, then obviously the WiiU is not and will never be for you.

Yes On November 22nd cause thats when Super Mario 3d World is coming out and it is looking gorgeous plus there are quite a few games available for the wiiU already, both third party and first party as of now and more third party + indie games are coming out for the wiiU as well

The only reason you should buy a wiiU is if you like Nintendo games, if you don't like Nintendo games, then don't buy it. 2014 for the wiiU is looking better than the ps4 and xbox one as of now plus its $100 less than the ps4...

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I would say only if you love Nintendo exclusives. Outside of that there is no reason to own one.

If you like Nintendo's first party offerings, then yes.
