I really don't know what you expect from Pokemon but just so you know, in the last 7 years the highest percentage boost to console sales thanks to a Pokemon release was 119% in Japan and about 35% in the west for the first week (aka the strongest week). I do think the 2DS and new Pokemon game combo was a smart move by Nintendo which means that I also expect a bigger boost this time around, but even that won't mean that Pokemon will suddenly triple the 3DS numbers around the whole world.

So no, I don't see Pokemon and the 2DS (and Zelda) moving 11 mio 3DS this holiday.

Nope. In 2011 the 3DS sold 8,75 mio between the beginning of October till the end of the year, last year it did 6,8 mio in the same timeframe and this year you predict a holiday boost of 4,2 mio more units than last year because of Pokemon, 2DS and Zelda. And that seems realistic to you?

Wii U - 4.0M
3DS - 14.5M

DS - 1.5M
Total: 23M

So I think Nintendo will sell more. The only way I see it not happening is if PS4/One kill Wii U sales.

Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

I dont think that matters so much, Yes toward WiiU it does but a $99-$109 2DS looks much much better than $399 or $499 and beside that, the people who are buying a PS4/X1 already have it on pre ordered paid for or already set on it months ago. You wont be able to fine one anywhere if you dont have it pre ordered!!!
