Considering that this was a statement addressing why the game is not coming to the Xbox and Playstation...it's not that much of a spin.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

No. Even MS fanboys show some interest in PS and Nintendo exclusives they don't call every first party game that isn't from Nintendo shit, hell even if it doesn't interest them enough to warrant a console purchase.
The majority of Nintendo fans on this site pretty much call ALL 1st party games that aren't from Nintendo complete shit despite not even playing them. It's annoying and ridiculous and part of the reason I will shit on the Wii U every time I get a chance to. |
You're generalizing in a terrible way. While some from the Nintendo camp have the unfortunate habit of bashing more cinematic games (one user in particular comes to mind), most of us are merely disinterested in most of the offerings. I have noticed a certain chauvanism regarding LittleBigPlanet specifically, but i think that's because the Nintendo community is fiercely picky about quality platformers (also why there's a mixed enthusiasm for Rayman among Nintendo fans, as while Rayman is colorfully imaginitive and a beautifully rendered game, it can get a little floaty as a platformer, which veterans of 2D Mario or Donkey Kong Country are going to frown upon. LBP has similar problems with the fundamentals, again in the matter of floatiness).
Most of what Sony and Microsoft make don't concern me in the slightest, though i've admired some of Sony Japan's works, like Ape Escape, Loco Roco, Patapon, and the Trico games.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

No there's a difference in saying a game doesn't interest you and the game is shit. Nintendo fans on those site rarely say the games are shit no matter what the genre. Not that it doesn't interest them or not. They just call them shit since they have it in their heads that only Nintendo makes good games.

He didn't go out and say "Sonic doesn't sell on PlayStation/Xbox", only cited strong sales on Nintendo platforms dating back to GameCube. There's a history of highly successful Nintendo-exclusive Sonic games, and Sega is interested in continuing the trend. So the title must have the "not Xbox or PlayStation", because despite what the actual quote is, it must be twisted to make it look like Sega simply doesn't care about their PlayStation and Xbox-owning fans at all.
What I'm getting from this, truly, is that Sega wants to bolster Mario & Sonic at the Olymic Games (the golden goose), by focusing the fanbase for Sonic on Nintendo platforms with an exclusive or two. There's still money to be made elsewhere, particularly once PS4/XB1 finally get rolling, but Sega is more comfortable being in bed with Nintendo (at least for now).

You're assuing that I accept the title's conclusions when I've said nothing of the sort.
I said the statement was baffling, and it is. Using exclusive sales as the basis for assessing the strength of appeal on a platform, when the results of non-exclusive sales point to the contrary, is not presenting strong evidence.

A closed mindset is not something to be proud of.
OT: Fair enough. Nintendo gets Sonic, we get Phantasy Star.
Its obvious that platformers are performing most of the time better on Nintendo consoles, and Sonic is a platformer. Lets hope that the next entry will be a good one

This is why Nintendo fan's get ganged up on a lot. Why do you guys have to SHIT on EVERY console exclusive that isn't from Nintendo. As if Nintendo is the only developer capable of making good games. When LBP is among the most critically acclaimed games this gen. I find it very hard to believe that if LBP was a Nintendo exclusive you would be saying the same thing. |
What a statement. You are basically saying other fanboys don't do this stuff. Alone the Naughty Dog Religion on this site. So, don't generalize.
