Well, I was always saying that I wanted a online Wii Sports. Now it is here and I start thinking that I prefer the resort table tennis rather than the original one lol. But I think I'll at least get Tennis. Nice buying options from Nintendo anyway.

No retail release for Sports Club would be a big mistake, that would cripple its hardware selling power.

Par for the course for this 'new' Nintendo...you know, the one that, unlike the early Wii days, apparently can´t get anything right about its successor.

Tell me about it, it boggles the mind how they manage to screw things up at every possible turn.

I'm onboard for Wii Fit U, especially because I can get the game and meter for $20, which is a steal.

I'm less enthusiastic about Wii Sports Club. Seems a bit steep for an HD overhaul of Wii Sports with online functionality. If the price dropped to around $30 for a physical copy, I might be more interested.

Wii Sports Club + 32GB Wii U w/o a tablet for $199.99 next spring ... do it Nintendo ... dooo it.

I had little interest in Wii Fit U, but at $20, I'm going to bite.

Good moves for Nintendo here in recoginizing the market has changed so they have to position these types of games differently now.

Yay a Soundwave post with no amount of negativity what do u think the odds are now that casuals will return since it has Wii Sports/Fit/Party all coming this holiday?

A I see. I missed this thread.

Seems Nintendo really likes to butcher their top selling games. That business model is awful. I hope they make it a full retail package once all sports are out.

Online is welcome though, and I get why they are doing this. They are starting to understand what the Wii U needs, but need to get something out really fast. Hopefully a full new "U Sports" is being worked on.

I LOVE ICELAND!

They can't hurt, but I don't think they'll be anywhere close to same phenonmenon's this time around, not because the games won't be good, but just because a large part of the appeal of those games is being fresh and different from anything else on the market, and that isn't the case 6 years later as the idea has been done (and copied) a hundred different times.

But they're positioning the games as well as possible IMO, making them cheap or even kinda-free is not a bad way to go.

It's important I think that Nintendo is recoginizing that the $49.99-$59.99 standard for every game simply doesn't work. Some games need to be priced much lower.

Wii Sports, especially Wii Bowling, in HD, with online play, will sell billions.

No offense, but how exactly is a "horrible business model"? If you don't want all 5 sports, you don't have to have them. Me personally, I'd likely only get Bowling and Tennis anyway. Maybe Golf. It's up to a person's preference, and they're only $10 a pop. How is that bad?

Yeah I think the business model is good, surprisingly flexible considering it's from Nintendo but I think they've recognized the casual market has changed a lot.

The day pass thing almost makes me think perhaps a Nintendo-ized version of PS Plus is coming at some point where you buy a pass that gives you access to certain games for a period of time or something.

I wonder if sports from Wii Sports Resort will also make their way into Wii Sports Club over time. Would make sense.

Online play for these games was a surprise too.

I think Nintendo is starting to recoginize they have to start looking outside the box, the traditional setup they've been trying for a while now isn't working.

And yes I think this could be a big step to a future much less reliant on retail.
