Be quiet Spurge. I'm filing this under "mad Spurge thread for crazy responses", because quite frankly, if they didn't go under during the GC era, they aren't going anywhere now.

Nothing? Both in the sense that Nintendo are currently in the process of injusring themselves badly, a lot worse than either Sony or MS ever could and also because they're not going anywhere for now.
They will survive the 8th gen, their handheld division alone will ensure that.
That said, I do think they'll have a horrible home console race and the Wii U will be remembered as a sore era in the Nintendo saga.

spurge, spurge, spurge so I'm glad to see your inner fanboy finally come out!!! Anyways why would you want Nintendo to go out of the console race? I think more competition on the market would be better for everyone right?

They would essentially need to go to Nintendo HQ and bomb it. Nintendo is not going anywhere.. No, not even third party. They survived the disasters of the Virtual Boy and (to a lesser extent) the Gamecube. They will survive in the console industry no matter how horribly Wii U performs. They have so much money stored away they can ride it out no matter what happens.

And furthermore, MS only has the US..  It is largely ignored elsewhere in the world, so they are still somewhat of a non factor, at least compared to Sony. PS4 and Xbone are NOT in the clear to dominate, especially when you consider their prices in an economy that is going down the tubes.

As much as I love sony but they are not enough to take out nintendo. Sony/soft will take each others down. Nintendo will prevail no matter what other people say.

Nintendo cant be taken out while they have billions in the bank and dominance in the handheld market.

Sony sure tries, but microsoft has no chance of accomplishing that. They are more likely to take each other out.

Speaking of which I wonder how long they are going to stay making a dedicated handheld system when it is easier for them to port their games to iOS, Android, and 2/3DS systems and make boatloads of money.   But that's a diffrent thread I don't want to derail this one.
