Forums - Nintendo - Now what is the biggest reason you are on the fence about getting the Wii U?

To much stuff coming out and not enough time.

If you're that worried about it to be honest wait for a price cut.

Nintendo is only one company of course there are going to be droughts and of course the later years of the console will be thin, just like Wii and GameCube and N64 before.

That's just a reality when third parties are all on Sony and MS' side.

It doesn't feel truly Next gen and the tablet just does not look that compelling. I have yet to try it for myself but it just looks so meh. It is also lacking in games, with only X truly being the best title I have seen from Nintendo.

My honest advice is if you're on a budget ... forget any of the new systems for the next 2 years or so. They simply aren't going to be worth it for a while yet unless you have money to burn.

A refurbished PS3 can be had for like $180, a refurbed 360 for even less. Both systems has tons of great games and will be supported for a few more years yet to boot.

Not only are the systems dirt cheap to track down, but you can get games like Uncharted 2/3, Halo 3, God of War 3, BioShock Infinite, MGS4, etc. for as low as $19.99 a pop.

Get that, then in 1-2 years, you'll probably be able to get a Wii U for $199.99 or less and it'll have a much more grown out library with MK8, Smash, Bayo 2, X, Mario 3D World, etc. all out.

The Wii U just doesn't seem to offer much value for me right now. It does have some games I want but, since there are few third-party games, those are few and far between. Even then, I'm afraid that a good chunk of those are going to be platformers, which isn't a genre that excites me very much.

Right now, it trails the 3DS and the PS4 on my list of which systems I want next and it's fading fast--not necessarily because it's getting weaker but because the others are getting stronger.

For me it's the price. I just fell that $300 is not worth the price right now. There just aren't any games I really want for it right now. When Mario 3D land, Mario Kart and Smash Bros release then $300 would be worth the price but If there was a price cut soon I would certainty buy it. If there's no price cut maybe I can find a sweet holiday deal.

It doesn't seem like it's worth the cost for what it offers. I already am getting a ps4 this year too so that's another factor.

Because PlayStation 4.

I have one :D

Im just waiting for Black Friday and a few more games to come out. If I can get the Deluxe+Wind Waker+Pikmin 3 for $300 ill be a happy panda.
