There is literally zero chance that Nintendo would ever "just dump it". They're not fucking Sega.
The absolute worst case scenario, is that sales don't pick up enough, and they have to take a bigger hit and drop the console price to spur sales. Otherwise, especially once Mario Kart and Smash come out, it's gonna be fine.
And for me, personally, I could give two fucks whether or not Wii U gets a lot of the big "AAA" third party games, because I'm often not that interested in them these days anyway, and the Wii U also has a HUGE queue of indie games in development for the eShop. When you get multiple developers stating that Wii U eShop is more "indie friendly" than Steam, you know something good is happening. And Nintendo is bending over backwards to do all they can, it seems, to help small indie devs get games on eShop.
I don't know about you, but a strong combo of first party Nintendo titles, along with a nice selection of indie games? That's about all I need. Any GOOD third party retail games that come out, that's just a bonus. And if there's something SUPER good that I can't get on Wii U? It'll probably be on PC.
