Forums - Sales - breakdown of Ubisoft sales per platform

Wow, the 360's share of sales has fallen so much in 1 year.
Other than that, its kind of expected that sales from both the PS3 and 360 are equal considering they both have a user base of almost the same size.

First off people put that into perspective.

Wii U's 3% is on a userbase that was less than 3.5m.

Yet it beat consoles with bases FAR higher like 3DS, DS, and PSP. As well as another with moderately higher userbase and a base most people consider more friendly to 3rd parties... Vita.

Wii U is doing just fine for Ubi... when you consider its tiny base. If Wii U had the 80m PS360 have... it would clearly be similar or even greater.

Attach rates of new consoles are always high, and it's much less impressive when you remember that includes 3 exclusive titles one of which is the best selling 3rd party and 3rd highest selling game on the system. Vita performance is also poor so not exactly a high bar, I doubt Ubisoft will be dropping another exclusive on there any time soon. Wii has by far the largest install base and is still less than half the other platforms even with Ubisoft providing the number one 3rd party franchise (by a wide margin) on the Wii via Just Dance, so your argument doesn't really hold water there.

bold: for that specific time frame... where Wii is basically dead and its active userbase is far smaller than the raw numbers suggest. Plus Wii got pretty much just one game. It did not get all the AAA titles Ubi makes.

And yet Wii share grew YoY by 3% the same amount as the Wii U did total... And if we look at single platform sales Just Dance is bigger than Assassin's Creed

Well, that's one way to look at it. Given it had an exclusive game vs any of the others, I wouldn't say it's great.

360 domination.

This is what the chart looked like for the same period in the X360's life cycle https://www.ubisoftgroup.com/comsite_common/en-US/images/2006-1862tcm9927776.pdf

Not quite sure how G-Cube had negative sales lol, I guess that stores wouldn't take stock they had produced or something. Look at that X360 30% with a userbase of under 4m http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/38914/Global/

Was there an exclusive game released for PC that explains the high percantage in fiscal Q1 this year?

I don't get most Nintendo fans. They'd rather buy Nintendoland ( or other N title) than ZombiU (or other third party title).

Nah, but FarCry 3 might have been a big reason for it.

Shoot mania Storm (I don't think it sold very well tho), Trials Evolution: Gold (port of the two X360 titles) and a Might & Magic Heroes VI expansion pack and a Complete Edition for retail containing the game and all three expansion packs (franchise has been in decline for some time, but still sells well in Germany). Other than that Far Cry 3/Blood Dragon and Gunslinger did well on on PC.

Pretty darn good for PC, expected for the new consoles sadly.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
