Game looks like a God of War/Dynasty Warriors mashup. Not for me, but Im sure someone will like it.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Turn 10 is above Polyphony at this point in my books if that helps. There will be a Xbox1 in my place, but my enthusiasm for it isn't sky-high - you're right. Also, I'm not that enthused by the PS4 launch lineup either. In fact, Titanfall looks better to me than any of that. Right now PS4 is what I would recommend to people - that's all. I've been a super-skeptic with regards to kinect since they started with their nonsense promises. Probably one of the biggest reasons I'm feeling a negative towards MS. (console-wise that is, with respect to OS I support UBUNTU and loath Windows {piece of shit} ) Is that acceptable? |
but i think microsoft doesn't really promote kinect 2 as device for hardcore games. that's why i don't understand when people or even gaming sites expect that now. they did it for kinect 1 and we know how it ended. i knew that ryse will be a controller game "better with kinect" for some time now. it was not really something surprising at e3. crytek had that even on their site for some months before e3. why this site didn't know it? no clue...
kinect 2 will be great for the media stuff and to play against friends and see them while playing. it will be aweome for dance games or something like fantasia. it can be also nice for something like kinect sports or as addition in games like skyrim to change your weapons or look at the map and so on (something i really like) but nobody should really expect anymore that we will get a game with complicated game mechanisms which will only use kinect and not a controller. as long as microsoft won't start to promote kinect 2 for games like that i don't really see why gaming sites still expect that. they promoted kinect 1 with that. kinect 2 is a new product and we should use microsofts promotion for this product to check if it's true or not.
i like kinect (i also like kinect sports and dance central lol) but even i don't want to get games like halo or so using kinect only. but as addition to command the a.i. or stuff like that i think it can be great.
Yeah QTE's are always bad no matter what. Only idiots like them.
Just look at these games and their abundance of QTEs. I think the sold like 10 copies or something...

But seriously ... QTEs are not always a bad gameplay element when used correctly. They did not damage the experience that the above games provided. Ryse looks kind of meh to be honest (and I say this as someone that wil probably pick it up and check it out anyways). Let's not dismiss it before we even see ore of what it has to offer.

It isn't QTE heavy. They've said the E3 build was just to show off executions that are available with the game. I'm also glad it isn't a Kinect title though I do want to see how a Core Kinect title will go with the upgraded Kinect that ships with the X1.

Unfortunately, Crytek is sinking deeper and deeper, they haven't made anything truly good since FarCry 1 (really big fan of that game). |
They seem to have an obsession with hyperrealism to the point where the gameplay suffers for it. Luckily FPS is the best genre for graphics pushers. This Ryse game is going to be a test to see how to they channel their talents into gameplay.

One example.
Press B when the sign shows up and it's starting the QTE or just kill the guy with regular attacks as done in the video.

The Kinect for the core campaign was a failure. Ryse was the very game that MS paid Crytek to prove Kinect could be used to make a core game. It failed though, so its now a full game again instead of a Kinect title. The new Kinect is more powerful, doesn't mean its capable of capable of depth tracking for a core title. Its stuck at the same dead end the Eyetoy was at last gen on the PS2. Microsoft would need something similar to the Move to make it work and Sony has already proven that motion controls can be used to create in depth core titles and they've used them on Killzone as well. Their problem is that their development process sucks for the PSP and Move.
