It's actually not that big a drop: it's this year's year-to-date. I'm just assuming most of the market for PS3's will be exhausted this Christmas, and that Sony will keep the PS3's price high through next year to keep it from interfering with the PS4's launch.

The PS4 is my pick for this gen's "smoothest launch," meaning that it will immediately start displacing current PS3 sales...unlike the Wii U, 3DS, and Vita launches, which all were overshadowed by their predecessors after launch.

I sincerely doubt WiiU will do worse next year than this, and the Vita won't sell that well either. And PS4 selling 13mil is too ridiculous to comprehend. No system aside from the Wii has come close to that in its first year. And the PS4 is no Wii. Half that number is more likely.

I will wager a sig bet that the PS4 will sell more than 13m units in 2014. We can work out the specifics.

Sure, 2014 only ofcourse (so not including launch this year). We should continue this in a PM, helps avoid derailing.
